JD Knives and Custom Works

𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐭 𝐮𝐩, 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐬, and slowly watch a chunk of steel take the shape of an axe. Every heat gets it a little closer—stretching, thinning, and working the profile into place.

A little fire, a bigger hammer, and some good old-fashioned persuasion.

This is where the axe starts to come alive.

Every sheath is made to complement the knife it carries, with attention to fit, function, and the little details that often go unnoticed. Over time, the leather develops its own story, wearing in with every trip to the field, the shop, or the outdoors.

Every hole is drilled with purpose.

Whether it's for pins, lanyards, or hardware, this is one of those steps that doesn't get much attention, but it sets the stage for everything that comes after. Once the holes are drilled, the knife starts coming together piece by piece.

It's not the loudest part of the process, but it's another step toward a finished blade.

This is where the blade really starts to take shape.

Grinding is all about patience. Every pass refines the profile, cleans up the lines, and brings the blade one step closer to its finished form. It's one of those stages where there's no rushing the process—just focus, consistency, and a little bit of sparks.
