Fort St. John International Air Show

The Fort St. John Air Show starts long before planes take the sky.

We are excited about the future of the air show and are working towards the possibility of scheduling another event. Before we can commit to hosting one, we need the right team in place years in advance.

We are currently looking for the following volunteer positions:

* Administrative (minutes, agendas, calendar invites)
* Marketing (social media, content)
* Website (updates, maintenance)
* Online filing system (organization and maintenance)
* Fundraising / Grants (exploring funding opportunities, including potential staffing support)
* Board Members / Directors (attending regular board meetings, strategic planning of the society, ensuring all applicable regulations are followed, oversight of airshow planning and decision making).

As the team grows, we will also be working toward key leadership roles:

* Producer (major responsibility, we are working towards funding this role)
* Ground Ops Lead (equipment, rentals, setup, teardown coordination)
* Concessions Coordinator
* Volunteer Coordinator
* Sponsorship Lead

The people who step in now are the ones who get to say they helped build it from the ground up.

Organizers of the Fort St John International Airshow have decided to pause the event in 2027, focusing on developing their volunteer base. This decision predates the government's recent announcement about retiring the current snowbird fleet.

Love aviation? Have you considered helping organize an Airshow? We can always use more volunteers, and it’s an incredible experience getting up close and working with all the pilots and other Airshow professionals.
