We have an important update regarding the events for this year’s Oilsands Classic!

Unfortunately, the Hoist Event has not come together as planned, so we’ve made the decision to swap it out for a Seated Arm-Over-Arm Vehicle Pull! 💪🔥

We know some athletes were really looking forward to the hoist, and we sincerely apologize for the change. We wanted to give everyone as much notice as possible and truly appreciate your understanding.

It takes an incredible team to make the 2026 Oil Sands Classic happen, and we’re looking for people who want to be part of the action!

We’re looking for volunteers to help with:

📦 Friday afternoon/evening , September 11 – Loading equipment
💪 Saturday all day , September 12 – Competition day support (spotters/loaders, athlete assistance, registration, and general event help) and equipment tear down
📦 Sunday, September 13 – unloading equipment

No experience is necessary—just a positive attitude, a willingness to help, and the ability to be part of an amazing team.

Whether you can help for one day or the whole weekend, we’d love to have you!

We are officially at capacity for this year’s Oil Sands Classic! The support from athletes across Alberta and beyond has been incredible, and we can’t wait to put on an amazing competition on September 12.

If you missed out on registration, don’t worry—we have started a waitlist. If a spot becomes available, we’ll contact athletes in the order they joined the list.

For all registered athletes:
If your plans have changed and you’re no longer able to compete, please let us know no later than August 1st. This allows us to offer your spot to another athlete and ensures everyone has enough time to prepare.It also helps with ordering athlete shirts, so after that date we cannot guarantee shirt sizes.
