Skills competition qualifiers for U15

🥌 RockFest with Curling Canada is back! 🥌

Calling all U-15 athletes! Get ready for an action-packed weekend of skills, competition, learning, and fun as RockFest returns for another season.

Choose from four qualifier events across Alberta
📍 Fort Macleod Curling Club — December 12–13, 2026
📍 Manning Curling Club — February 6–7, 2027
📍 Stony Plain Curling — February 20-21, 2027
📍 Airdrie Curling Club — February 27–28, 2027

New this year: Athletes must compete in an in-person qualifier to earn a spot at Curling Canada's U-15 RockFest West in Okotoks.
Registration opens September 1 at noon.

This past weekend, our very own Becky Fadden attended Curling Canada’s Ice Technician Facilitator & Evaluator Training in Chilliwack, B.C., alongside 18 of Canada’s top ice makers!

What an incredible opportunity to learn, collaborate and share knowledge with some of the best in the country, and bring that experience right back home to benefit our club and our curlers.

We’re incredibly proud to have Becky representing the Fort McMurray Oilsands Curling Club and continuing to grow her knowledge and expertise. Great ice doesn’t happen by accident, it takes dedication, skill and a whole lot of behind-the-scenes work!

Curling Alberta

What a great way to wrap up Alberta Rocks Summer Camp One, with The Great Shootout!

So much fun was had by all the curlers! They’ll leave camp with new skills, great memories, new friendships, stronger teamwork, and experiences they’ll carry with them both on and off the ice.

What an incredible way to finish an amazing week!

I'd also like to give a shout out to Curling Alberta and the Leduc Curling Club for hosting and the energy brought by all instructors on and off the ice.

Fort McMurray Oilsands Curling Club is well represented at this year’s Alberta Rocks Summer Camp taking place in Leduc!

We can’t wait to see how much fun they have, the new skills they bring back to the ice, and all the amazing memories they’ll make along the way.
