Camp's a wrap! πŸ™Œ
Proud doesn't cut it!

Six different groups, eight weeks of showing up,
good discussions, hard discussions.

Developing our strength, our vocabulary, and our capacity as humans and as athletes.

Every single one of them left stronger than they walked in.
There's a lot of noise right now about who kids are supposed to be.

Camp doesn't answer that, in my eyes it does something better:

It hands them a body they're building on purpose, and lets them find out what it can do and what they must do for it.

That's not a performance for anyone else.
That's just theirs.

The weight on their back, the struggle & discomfort they overcome, the strength they carry as not only a capacity but a part of their identity and perspective.

Our goal is to build an environment of passion and perspective β€” because that's what real performance grows out of.

Who you are shows up in how you act, and it has consequences:

Show up hungry, you feel weak.
Show up thirsty, you feel slow.
But show up having cared for yourself in those simple ways, and you start to understand something bigger:

You're worth your own effort in the morning.
You're worth the sleep at night.
You're worth naming the emotion, the solution and the acceptance.

You're a valuable member of this team and we take care of ourselves so we can take care of each other.

Real pride, for me, is a kid asking if they can keep coming back. It's trust and mutual respect from an incredible group of people, year after year.

It's parents trusting me with their kids for eight weeks and believing it'll matter.

It's watching that trust become mutual, then become respect, then just become how we operate.
Not the reps. The years.

This is why I do this work β€” the chance to hand a kid something they'll still be carrying long after they've left this gym.

Just as people did for me when I needed it.

Fall sessions are coming. In-season training starts soon!
And we're always happy to welcome our muskie athletes back into the fold.

Thank you all for making this what it is:

Passion. Perspective. Performance. πŸ’ͺ❀️

Behind the scenes: They get after it!

They come straight from work.
Maybe tired, flat, with every excuse in the book.
And they train anyway.

You give them a correction, and they change it that rep.
They are leaders and listeners.

The hard parts they work on outside of the gym:
Sleeping well. Eating like athletes. Building a relationship with food.
Choosing what matters this week.
Nobody claps for you when you go to bed on time.

Nobody gave them any of this.
They built it, and what comes with it goes everywhere they go.

Four weeks into eight.
Proud doesn't even cover it.
You are worth every ounce of effort you put into yourself.

In our gym, we teach kids to fail. On purpose...

It's the art of trying. The non-striving mentality.
Do it because you care how it's done, not if you win.
A winning mindset.

Because in the weight room, failure isn't something to fear, it's one of the most valuable tools we have.

Level 1 athletes are learning to meet it, learn from it, and build a relationship with it.
And I'm proud of every one of them.

Level 1 is our foundation education.
Where athletes build the base everything else stands on.

But really, it's self-discovery.

In the gym: learning to move well with every implement and every major movement pattern and discovering the style of training that lights them up.

In the classroom:

🍎 What a healthy relationship with food looks like, and if an athlete's is different because of their demand.

🍳 Calling our food by name, it's a form of respect. Then asking: where does it fit? Carb? Fat? Protein?
The goal is awareness and relationship with their health.

⚑ Calories = energy. That's it. Fuel, not fear.

πŸ’§ Hydration & Sleep β€” the most underrated performance tools there are.

In their own bodies: learning to read the signals, understand what they mean, and know what stimulus creates what outcome.

Then we define the goal, and build the strategy to get there.

Foundations first. Self-discovery always. πŸ—οΈ
