2026 DBHL Summer champs Purple Haze

The 3rd and deciding game of the semifinals between Purple Haze and Son of a Phoque takes place tomorrow at 10:00am. The winner will advance to play Les Tybernacks in the best-of-5 finals that begin on Sunday morning.

Playoffs begin this weekend with the best-of-2 quarter-finals.

At 10:00am both days 4th place Dem Dawgz will play 5th place The Big Sexy.

At 11:00am both days 3rd place Purple Haze will play 6th place Taco Ticklers.

If either series is tied 1-1 at the conclusion of game 2 on Sunday a mini-game will immediately be played.

The series winners will advance to play 1st place Les Tybernacks or 2nd place Son of a Phoque in the best-of-3 semi-finals beginning the following weekend.

There will be fundraiser BBQs both days this weekend.

As the summer playoffs begin this weekend, here is our annual breakdown of the frequently asked questions regarding the rules and format (all of these are straight from the rules section of the Summer page on our website):

- There is no shooutout in the playoffs. All playoff games that are tied after regulation will go to sudden death overtime. (Note for clarification: This means there are no shootouts and no ties. There must be a winner.)

- If each team has one (1) win then at the conclusion of the second (2nd) game of the quarter-finals then a mini-game will occur to determine the winner, with 2 full 8 minute periods, switching sides between periods. (Note for clarification: If the mini-game goes to overtime these will also be 8 minutes)

* One (1) timeout per period will be permitted for each team during regulation time of the mini-game, with the home team receiving one (1) extra timeout to be used in either regulation period. (Note for clarification: This means no time-outs in OT too).

- The winner of each quarter-final series will advance to play the first (1st) and second (2nd) place teams in the best-of-3 semi-finals, with the lower seeded winner playing the first (1st) place team and the higher seeded winner playing the second (2nd) place team.

- The winner of each semi-final series will advance to play each other in the best-of-5 finals.

It's the final weekend of the regular season and we now are playing on both Saturday and Sunday through the end of the playoffs.

Les Tybernacks have locked up 1st place and the first quarterfinal bye that goes with it. There is still a 3 team battle for 2nd place and the other quarterfinal bye between Son of a Phoque, Purple Haze, and Dem Dawgz. The Big Sexy can still move up from 5th to 3rd place as well as they play the 2 teams they are chasing in the standings this weekend.
