Notre dernier invité pour le camp intensif : Parker !
Our final guest teacher for summer intensive : Parker !

Originally from New Brunswick and now based in Montreal, Parker Rice is a versatile professional dancer recognized for his athleticism, adaptability, and strong performance quality. Trained in hip-hop, contemporary, jazz, ballet, and acrobatics, he brings a dynamic presence to both stage and screen. Since relocating to Montreal to pursue dance professionally, Parker has established himself within Canada’s commercial dance industry through his dedication, work ethic, and passion for storytelling through movement.
His credits include performances in Révolution season 7, Disney Channel, Canada Day 2024, the FIFA World Cup Opening Ceremony, and live productions featuring ASAP Rocky, Billie du Page, and Marie-Mai. Alongside performing, Parker enjoys teaching and inspiring the next generation of dancers by sharing the technical and artistic foundations that have shaped his career. He continues to seek opportunities in live entertainment, television, touring, and commercial productions.

Carolyn sera parmi nous pour notre première semaine de camp intensif ! / Carolyn will be joining us for our first week of summer intensive !

Carolyn Zettel-Augustyn a consacré près de quatre décennies à sa longue carrière d’enseignante de ballet, de directrice, d’examinatrice, de juge et de consultante. Elle a commencé son parcours remarquable en enseignement en 1982 en fondant et en dirigeant l’Academy of Dance à Waterloo, en Ontario. Au cours des 25 années qui ont suivi, son académie s’est forgée une réputation d’excellence dans la formation en danse. Mme Zettel-Augustyn est enseignante affiliée à l’ABT® pour les niveaux allant du pré-primaire au niveau 7 et au partenariat du programme national de formation de l’ABT®, tout en occupant le poste d’examinatride du programme national de formation de l’ABT®. Ses chorégraphies lui ont valu de nombreux prix et elle est titulaire d’une bourse prestigieuse de l’ABT. Reconnue pour son expertise, elle est fréquemment invitée à enseigner aux États-Unis et au Canada.
In addition to her ballet accomplishments, Ms. Zettel-Augustyn is a certified teacher with the Canadian Dance Teachers’ Association (CDTA) and has been awarded the status of Life-Time Member. During her association with CDTA, she held the position of Chair of the Ballet Division and contributed as a member of the Examiner Syllabus Committee. She is a Certified Yoga® Teacher and Music Together Teacher. In 2011, Ms.
Zettel-Augustyn founded the Classical School of Ballet LI, NY, where she held the position of Director until
2024. She continues to maintain a strong connection with the Classical School of Ballet, LI and where she holds the title of Founder and Director, Emerita. Presently, Carolyn Zettel-Augustyn continues to impart her knowledge by teaching and consulting for ballet schools in both Canada and the USA. In 2024, Carolyn returned to Canada and resides in New Brunswick.

Aujourd’hui, on vous présente Derick ! / Today, we’re introducing Derick !

Derick “XclusiV” Robinson is a soulful, experienced and unique individual who doesn’t fear exploring creativity and innovation as a dancer, teacher and mentor. His distinct style is anything but ordinary, his ability to think outside the box is what truly makes him an addition to the dance community. With over 20 years of experience, Derick is a seasoned educator and performer with extensive knowledge of the commercial industry. A few of his credits include performing with Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Nelly Furtado, Jully Black and Janelle Monae. While also appearing in films such as Trap, Sneakerella, Full Out and the Salt N Pepa biopic.
After dancing for the Toronto Raptors North Side Crew for 5 years, he has now transitioned into the role of assistant choreographer for the crew. Derick has had the opportunity of performing and teaching all over the world, including being casted for the Monsters of Hip-Hop finale showcase in Los Angeles, touring Europe with Nelly Furtado, and spending a month in Italy teaching across the country. He knows what it takes to not only get hired, but get rehired as well! He is dedicated to helping his students be the absolute best version of themselves both on and off the stage. Excited to continue his journey with dance; Derick is eager, enthusiastic and strives to bring something new and different to this world.

Notre prochain invité, Frank ! / Our next guest teacher, Frank

Frank Augustyn a suivi une formation à la prestigieuse École nationale de ballet du Canada et a été invité à rejoindre la Compagnie nationale de ballet du Canada en 1970. Il est devenu le danseur de ballet masculin le plus renommé du Canada au XXe siècle. En 1973, Karen Kain et lui ont remporté un prix spécial pour le meilleur pas de deux au Concours international de ballet de Moscou. Augustyn s’est produit en tant que danseur principal dans le monde entier, notamment au Boston Ballet, au Berlin Ballet, au Royal Winnipeg Ballet, au Shanghai Ballet, au Beijing Ballet, au Bolshoi Ballet, au Kirov Ballet, au Talin Ballet et au Dutch National Ballet, et bien plus encore.
He has been decorated with three honorary degrees and in 1979 was bestowed the most distinguished title of Canada, Officer, Order of Canada (O.C.). He co-produced and hosted the television series, « Footnotes, The Classics of Ballet», first aired on Bravo Television and authored the accompanying book, « Footnotes, The World’s Best Loved Ballets ». From 2000 to 2024 Frank Augustyn was a tenured Associate Professor at Adelphi University, NY where he led the Department of Dance as Chair. In November 2024 he was inducted in the Canada’s Dance Hall of Fame, Danse Collection Dance. Currently, he is co-producing arts events, teaching, adjudicating and consulting in the USA and Canada. In 2024, he returned to Canada, where he now resides in New Brunswick.

On poursuit la présentation de nos profs invités pour notre camp intensif. Aujourd’hui, voici Emily ! / We’re continuing our guest teacher introductions for our intensive summer camp. Up next, Emily !

Emily Chiasson is a professional dancer, choreographer, and teacher from Moncton, New Bunswick. She began dancing at a young age and later moved to New York City to pursue her dream of becoming a professional dancer.
While in New York, Emily trained at the prestigious Joffrey Ballet School, where she graduated from the Jazz and Contemporary Trainee Program on a full scholarship. Throughout her career, she has had the opportunity to work alongside and assist respected choreographers including Amy Yakima, Angelica Stiskin, Nijawwon Matthews, Shannon Atkins, and Gianna Martello.
Emily is currently a full-time faculty member at the Academy of Classical Ballet and Modern Dances and spends much of her time teaching, choreographing, and sharing her passion for dance with students across New Brunswick. Her choreography has received numerous awards and overall recognitions at competitions, and she loves creating pieces that help dancers grow both technically and artistically.
Emily is excited to continue inspiring young dancers, helping them build confidence, develop their skills, and find joy in movement.
