Our BC U17s put on a fantastic finale to our 2026 BC Golf Championship Season! ⛳

🥇 Boys Division: Owen Beaulac closed with a final-round 66 to finish at 7-under and claim the title.

🥇 Girls Division: Emma Kral finished at 1-under to take home the Girls Division title.

🤝 Better Ball Champions: Emma Kral & Luke Bernakevitch finished at 21-under.

🥇 Zone Competition: Zone 2 (Kobe Menzies, Luke Traverse, & Nolan Williams) claimed top honours with a two-day team total of 1-under.

A huge thank you to Castlegar Golf Club for being fantastic hosts, and to our volunteers, referees and tournament staff for everything they did to make the championship possible. 👏

Day 2️⃣ BC U17 Championship

After an exciting day the boys’ field has been cut to the top 50% and ties for tomorrow final round. Team BC’s Luke Traverse continues to pave the way carding another -2 (70) to extend his lead to 3.

In the girls’ division, Emma Kral, fellow Team BC players, remains steady at the top with another solid 72 (E).

With one final round remaining there’s still plenty to play for! 🏆

Applications are now open for the 2027 Team BC Golf Squads Squad Selection Camp!

For 2027, British Columbia Golf is expanding from five Regional Squads to six, creating more opportunities to identify and develop competitive junior golfers from across the province:
- Okanagan
- North Shore
- Metro Vancouver
- Vancouver Island
- Fraser Valley
- Northern BC/Kootenay (virtual)

Eligible BC athletes ages 12 to 17 can apply for the Selection Camp, taking place October 9-11, 2026, at Ledgeview Golf Club in Abbotsford and Mission Golf and Country Club in Mission.

The camp will combine Talent ID testing, athlete assessments and two days of tournament play as part of the selection process for the 2027 Team BC Squads.

A competitive opening day at Castlegar 🔥

The BC U17 Championship is officially underway in Castlegar, and the leaderboard is already stacked.

In the Boys Division, Carson Carroll and Team BC’s Luke Traverse share the lead at -2 (70) with plenty of players ready to chase them down. With the field being cut to the top 50% and ties after tomorrow round it’s bound to be an exciting second day. 💥

In the Girls Division, Team BC’s Emma Kral holds the early lead after an opening even-par 72. She’ll have plenty of competition looking to chase her down over the next two days as she tries to add another provincial championship to her name.

Round 1 down but plenty more ahead for the BC’s final provincial championship of 2026! 🏆🏆

Double-Crown at Wascana Country Club 🏆🏆

Surrey’s Tiger Xie is the 2026 Canadian Junior & Juvenile Boys Champion after an outstanding performance all week.

Finishing at -16 over the four rounds with a tied course-record (65) on the third day, Xie won the championship by two with a birdie on the last.

Congratulations Tiger!

First Nations, Métis and Inuit youth ages 10 to 18 are invited to a provincial athlete development camp in Quesnel on September 20, 2026.

Presented by the Indigenous Sport, Physical Activity & Recreation Council in partnership with British Columbia Golf and Quesnel Golf Club, the one-day camp is open to First Nations, Métis and Inuit youth ages 10 to 18 and welcomes golfers across a range of skill levels.

The camp will give young athletes an opportunity to develop their golf skills, connect with other Indigenous golfers and learn more about the provincial athlete development pathway.

British Columbia Golf is proud to support I·SPARC and Team BC NAIG in expanding access to golf and creating meaningful development opportunities for Indigenous youth throughout the province. The camp will also help support the continued development of athletes within the Team BC pathway as preparations build toward future North American Indigenous Games competition.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own golf clubs, but equipment can be provided for those who need it. Golf attire is preferred, and participants should bring a water bottle and sunscreen.

From July 13–16, 156 of the province’s best amateur golfers will tee it up for the 124th BC Amateur Championship, one of the province’s oldest and most coveted titles. First played in 1894, the BC Amateur has crowned generations of champions, and it’s now landing in Burnaby for the first time.

Alongside the championship, the Burnaby Golf Festival brings four full days of ways to get involved: watch championship golf, take your shot in the daily Closest-to-the-Pin contest, bring a junior golfer out, get fitted for new clubs, try a beginner clinic, enjoy great food and brews, and much more!

Spectator access is free with registration, while select clinics, golf events and social experiences have separate registration fees or are already sold out!

The Burnaby Golf Festival is hosted by Golf Burnaby in partnership with BC Golf, with support from Explore Burnaby. You don’t want to miss this.

After more than 20 years with British Columbia Golf, Debbie Pyne will retire from her role as managing director of player development on June 30.

Under the programs and coaching networks Debbie helped shape, B.C. golfers have captured 49 national interprovincial team titles, 40 national individual championships and 13 Canada Summer Games gold medals — the most of any province.

Her legacy is in the people.
