Rim pads are great for added concussion absorption especially when your horse is consistently being worked on harder surfaces.

They are also great for adding more sole depth to the sensitive footed horses without having to cover the entire frog/ sole area.

Thanks Vinny for standing so well for your first set of composite shoes šŸ˜‹

Very happy with the continued progress in the relaxation of the dorsal and the consistent proper heel growth on this mares hinds.

Used extra soft DIM and a frog pad for 4 rotations and now switched to a Castle cushion frog pad with an extra soft pour pad.

Didn’t have too many options with this new client horse… ended up setting up the front right with a reverse wedge pad to add some toe length as she was well above 60 degrees😬 and just under half an inch shorter in the toe than her left. Not pretty and still a lot of work to do but she is so far a lot more comfortable with this set up. So that’s the only goal that we need to achieve right now !

Using extra soft DIM for this mares hind feet.

I think that most of the time less is more when it comes to shoeing horses. but sometimes there are areas where the extras are needed/useful. This is Elsas’s second rotation with 3-D frog pads + DIM to see if we can try to help her current frog atrophy and relax her dorsal, as well as her heel. So far I would say we’ve achieved a bit of progress overall !
