Woke up in Grand Falls, one of those nights where you watch the ceiling and wait for morning. My brain is finally on the road with me. Bought some expensive w**d and drove to Three Forks. Highways are amazing.
In Three Forks I booked myself into Lewis and Clark Motel and went to see the river. I can leave my canoe with the park people while I drop my truck at the storage place. On my way back I stopped at a w**d store, but it was an odd business. Like, what kind of w**d store is it if the biggest bag they had was one eighth?! So I drove 21 miles to Bozeman to get some normal herbs. W**d is expensive in Montana. It cost me all my American cash budget because neither of my cards works in w**d stores. And surprisingly, ma*****na can only be paid for by debit card or cash, not credit card.
Final packing started. Canoe is beautiful.
After I spread absolutely everything on the king-size bed, it took me about 5 hours to sort everything out, ziplock everything, weight it on the scale and try to memorize where everything is, but that will take me several days to remember. It’s 220 pounds of gear, food and water . I'm thinking about going out for a Montana beef steak, but I already spent an extra 500 bucks, so I will keep it for later.
Tomorrow is my D-day
