Fight the Couch is about getting up, moving again, and choosing growth over comfort.

My first major goal is to complete a 50K trail race, but this mission doesn’t stop there.

The Groovy Granite trail race was so much fun, I had to post about it again! If you want to see if I can beat my goal of a sub-hour 7km race, then check out the full video on our YouTube channel!

How many high fives is too many high fives?

I’m Not A Coach.
I’m The Guy Going First.

I’m the guy who looked around and realized life had become work, obligations, routines, and a lot of sitting.

So I started moving.

Running.

Racing.

Trying things.

Failing sometimes.

Filming it all.

Fight The Couch isn’t about teaching from the mountaintop.

It’s about showing what happens when ordinary people decide to move again.

A two-year journey from the couch to running a 50km trail race.

Not because running defines success.
But because committing to something difficult forces growth.

This journey will include setbacks, doubt, missed days, and lessons learned the hard way. And it’s all being shared openly, not as experts, but as people walking it in real time.

Join the journey at www.fightthecouch.com

One week after the Prairie Nightmare Backyard Ultra I took on the 10k Abas Auto Stony Mountain Run. Results pretty much dead last as my legs were still not recovered 🫨😂🤕 but I did have fun. I’m learning a lot about the skill of running and myself this year. Thanks to all the volunteers and their high fives :)

Also found another Flying Acorn racer. Congrats to him he smoked the course.

What nobody tells you at 35, 45, 55 when you're starting again...

Motivation isn't going to show up and carry you out the door. It rarely does. You go anyway, and the wanting to sometimes shows up around the second kilometre. Sometimes it doesn't show up at all, and you finish tired and content regardless.

That's not a flaw in the plan. That's the whole plan.

If you've been telling yourself you'll start when you feel ready, I get it. I've stood at that same door more times than I can count. But feeling ready won't get you off the couch. Standing up, lacing up the shoes, and just getting out there is what moves you.

What's one thing, today, you could do for ten minutes?
