So I picked this up from the customer to get it's gogo back and perform a full service to it. So once in got it running I started the process of my full service package, deck removal to tend to that first. Then message the customer asking if this had been serviced elsewhere prior to me i was informed the last service was performed at our local JD dealer. Well I gotta say this is very disappointing that a dealer would allow this to be returned to a customer. This tractor has very little oil in it as you can see from the pictures it literally had just enough to barely keep thing's lubricated. So when I topped the oil to proper level it instantly had gone dark so I couldn't allow this to be returned like that so I ran the engine a while getting it good and hot to help loosen up the internal gunk then changed the oil and filter. I am very surprised this motor didn't suffer catastrophic failure due to the negligence of a technician.

So while I wait for things to dry up so I can finish the JD tractor I've got these 3 in. Troy-Bilt pic # 2 running rough sounding like it wants to die, pic #3 yardworks started and dies now no start except with GoGo juice and #4 troy-bilt start runs a couple seconds and dies.

Back from days off diving right into it. So this machine i had done a quick diagnosis for the customer prior to taking off. The tractor would start no problem and run once running for a bit it would shut-off and not start again till it cooled off. So my quick diagnosis was a coil or possible spark plug issue. So I had ordered a coil to have on hand just incase. Well after pulling the cover off the engine this morning I discovered this picture #3 the coil and flywheel are both rusted fairly significantly. So now I'm going to clean both surfaces really well and do a test because it is possible that with this much rust it just wasn't making the contact it needed to keep running while hot. Worst case if this doesn't fix it I do have a new coil but if I can save the customer money on a new coil why not do that.

Just want to throw this out there to assist in the search. I am currently seeking one of these styles of Lawn Tractor there is different manufactured brands such as troy-bilt, cub cadet etc for a long time customer. If you know of any decent used ones forsale at an affordable price in around the Halifax area please reach out to me. This person is on a limited budget and is vertically challenged so a full size tractor is hard for them to operate. They do have a full size husqvarna tractor that I sourced out a few years back so there might be possibility of some sort of a trade deal.
