We are excited to announce Coach Clay is sticking with the Classics 09 this season! ❤️🥎

Clays focus extends beyond the field. Clay is committed to helping young athletes become confident, hardworking, respectful and well-rounded individuals, while creating an environment where players can challenge themselves, learn from mistakes and enjoy the game.

After joining the Classics 09 program last season, Clay was a key part of an extremely successful season, and we are thrilled to have him back for this next chapter! His experience, perspective, and commitment to the players are a huge asset as we take this group into their U19 season. We’re excited to see what this team can accomplish together! ❤️🥎

Danielle’s coaching philosophy is grounded in trust, hard work, accountability, resilience, and genuine care for others. She aims to create an environment where athletes feel supported, challenged, and confident…..She empowers players to take ownership of their development, embrace challenges, learn from mistakes, and grow as both athletes and teammates.

Previous Season Achievements
Following an extremely successful season in which the team placed in every tournament entered, Danielle is extremely proud of what this group accomplished. The team recorded 79 wins, earned multiple tournament championships and medals/rings, captured a District 6 Championship, finished 3rd at Canada Cup, and placed 4th at the BC Provincial Championships.
These results reflect the team’s consistency, work ethic, and commitment throughout the season. The most meaningful outcomes extend beyond wins and medals. The true success of the season lies in seeing athletes build confidence, trust themselves and each other, overcome adversity, and develop into stronger teammates.
The focus remains on developing resilient, accountable, and confident athletes while fostering lasting relationships and memories beyond the field. 🥎❤️🖤🤍🥎

🥎U15B HEAD COACH WANTED🥎

The Coquitlam Classics are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic, and experienced Head Coach to lead our U15B team for the 2026/2027 season.

We’re looking for someone who believes coaching is about more than just wins and losses. The right coach will be passionate about developing athletes, building confidence, creating a strong team culture, and helping young players reach their potential both on and off the field.

WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• A strong background in softball, either through playing, coaching, or both
• A positive and confident leadership style
• A commitment to player development and skill progression
• Someone who values teamwork, accountability, communication, and sportsmanship
• The ability to create a fun, competitive, inclusive, and supportive environment
• A coach who can motivate athletes while helping them develop confidence and resilience
• Strong communication with players, families, and coaching staff
• Commitment to the full season, including winter training, practices, tournaments, and provincials

🥎 Meet The Coach: Jeff Gushue

Head Coach | Classics U17B 2011

The Coquitlam-Moody Softball Association is excited to welcome Jeff Gushue to the Classics coaching staff as the Head Coach of our U17B 2011 team!

Jeff brings an impressive 30 years of coaching experience, along with a lifetime of playing experience, giving him a deep understanding of the game and what it takes to help young athletes succeed.

His coaching philosophy is centered around accountability, skill development, hard work and building a strong team culture. Jeff believes that great teams are built through commitment, trust, communication and a shared willingness to continually improve.

His goal is to create an environment where athletes are challenged to grow, supported through the process, and encouraged to become the very best versions of themselves—both on and off the field.

With his extensive experience and passion for developing young athletes, Jeff is looking forward to helping the Classics U17B team compete with confidence, grow together and make their 2026/27 season the best yet!

We’re excited to welcome Taylor Elliott back for her second season as Head Coach of the Coquitlam Classics U13B team!

After a fantastic first season behind the bench, Taylor is returning with even more experience, energy, and passion for the game. Having recently played woman’s softball with Cloverdale Fury and after many years of youth REP herself, Taylor brings a unique perspective to coaching—one that allows her to truly understand the athletes she works with and connect with them both on and off the field.

Taylor’s coaching philosophy is built around creating a positive, supportive, fun, and competitive environment where players can develop their skills, grow their confidence, and learn to love the game. She believes softball is about much more than wins and losses—it’s about teamwork, resilience, hard work, friendships, and believing in yourself.

As she enters her second year leading the U13B Classics, Taylor is excited to continue developing her players both individually and as a team. Her goal is to create an environment where every athlete feels valued, encouraged, challenged, and proud of the player they are becoming.

Last weekend, the 2009B Classics battled hard all weekend long against some of the best teams representing British Columbia. Out of 16 talented teams, our Classics fought their way to an incredible 4th-place finish! 👏🥎

We could not be more proud of this group! They showed perseverance, determination, heart, and GRIT every step of the way. 💪🔥

They never gave up, continued to battle, and represented the Classics with pride. What a weekend and what an accomplishment! ❤️💙
