This is Logan… the quiet kid who came to camp three years ago and then kept coming back… and whose mama is now a friend… and who leaned into learning and hard work and our crazy family chaos… might have found his horse.

Miya gave her seal of approval and the horse… “Whiskey”… went from snorting and pawing to following them around like a puppy.

The gelding was off to auction tomorrow morning or home with us tonight.

We’ll be updating as we go.

Logan 2024 and Logan 2026... Kiddo, we appreciate you so much! Maybe we need to just tear that fence down and start over.... LOL

Trainer Opportunity - Development ongoing (next spring outdoor arena, suitable for working cattle); (this fall adding a 12 stall barn with wash stall). Attached to our 80x100 insulated new indoor arena with great footing.

New all wood paddocks with shelters, (adding more this fall) ample parking and exceptional location.

Pasture turnout available. Potential for housing on site. We are motivated to work with the right individual to provide a clean, professional and easygoing environment. Top notch care for boarding horses, private tack room. Will build to suit.

I didn’t buy a horse. I went with a friend and client so she could buy a horse.

The horse seemed like a potential fit… until the horse threw a fit.

A hissy fit.

So… not a horse for a confident beginner.

The owners had been gifted the mare by an aging neighbor, but they needed the space and weren’t horse crazy like most people I know.

We were going to leave, because I am feeding enough things with attitude as it is.

But then I remembered this kid who we love. This kid who has been out here volunteering day in and day out, who is getting into roping and rides anything we offer to him… and I said maybe she has a chance with this kid.

So I didn’t buy a horse. They gave me the horse.

And when I got home, despite her half assed kicks and horrible ground manners… I like this horse.

And Logan is going to hopefully become a real cowboy real fast.

Here’s to the kids who work hard and the horses who didn’t end up on the meat wagon, and putting them together in a corral.
