π CHAD1000X IS COMING TO WTD.
1,000 box step-ups.
Yep. You read that right. π
On Saturday, September 12 at 11:00 AM, weβre taking on CHAD1000X together.
CHAD1000X was created in honour of Navy SEAL Senior Chief Chad Wilkinson, who died by su***de in 2018. Today, the challenge helps bring awareness to veteran mental health and su***de prevention.
But before you see β1,000 step-upsβ and immediately decide this isnβt for youβ¦ keep reading. π
You DO NOT have to do 1,000 weighted step-ups by yourself.
You can take on the challenge:
π Individually
π With a partner
π Weighted or unweighted
π With a lower box or other modifications appropriate for you
This is NOT about being the fastest or proving you can do RX.
Itβs about choosing a challenge that is appropriate for YOU, showing up, and taking it one step at a time β with your WTD community beside you.

WTD members can register in Kilo.
Not sure which version you should do? Talk to one of our coaches. Weβll help you choose.
1,000 STEPS. ONE COMMUNITY. πβ€οΈ
ONE STEP AT A TIME.
August Committed Club π
Okay... people are really starting to make the gym a priority. π
Another great month for our Committed Club with more members hitting 12+ visits AND this month we have 3 people who made it to 20+! π₯
That's what we love to see.
Not because we expect everyone to be in the gym 20 times a month, everyone's schedule and goals are different, but because we're seeing more and more of you finding a way to make training part of your regular routine.
Work is busy. Families are busy. Summer is busy. Life isn't suddenly giving anyone extra time.
You're making the time.
Huge congratulations to everyone who made the August Committed Club. Whether you hit 12, 15, 20 or more... you showed up.
September, you're up. π
So why Semi-Private Personal Training?
Maybe you want more individual attention and a program built around YOUR goals, but you also enjoy having other people around you while you train.
That's pretty much why we created it.
You might be working on getting stronger while the person beside you is working on losing weight, recovering strength, or learning completely different movements. You're sharing the space and the energy β not the program.
And the important part? You're still being coached.
A little bit of personal training. A little bit of that group energy. Best of both worlds. ππͺ

So what actually happens in a class at Wake The Dead?
You won't walk in, look at a workout on the board and be expected to figure it out.
Your coach walks you through what you're doing, how you're doing it, where we want you to push and, sometimes more importantly... when you need to calm down because you still have another two minutes to survive. π
We teach, we correct, we adjust, and we help you understand how to approach the workout β because going as hard as possible isn't always the goal.
And don't worry... Coach Emma fully believes you'll come out alive just fine. ππ
You just have to show up. We'll walk you through the rest.

You don't have to be good at the gym to belong in one. Actually, we'd much rather you come in willing to learn.
Ask questions. Let us correct you. Try something you've never done before. Get a rep wrong and try it again. That's literally what we're here for.
Some of the strongest people you see training in these pictures didn't walk through our doors knowing everything they're doing now. They've been coached, they've practiced, they've screwed things up π and they've gotten better.
You don't need to impress us.
Just be willing to learn and we'll take it from there.π
This one means a little more to me.
I've known Cory for over 10 years. We used to train together at another gym, and when that gym closed and I eventually opened Wake The Dead out of my garage, somehow he found me again. π He came looking for somewhere quiet to train, and from there, I guess we made a little history together.
Cory was there during the early garage days and has watched this place grow into what it is today. And somewhere along the way, he grew with it too.
He's been through some incredibly hard things. There was a point when I honestly didn't know if I would see him training with us again. But he came back. He trusted us enough to start again, let us guide him, and slowly built himself back up.
After knowing this man for more than a decade, I can confidently say this is the best shape I've ever seen him in. He's strong as hell, his nutrition is probably better than mine π, and physically you can see the work he's put in.
But hearing him talk about his confidence, clarity, and what this place has done for him outside of the gym means more to me than any physical transformation.
Because Cory **earned** where he is today.
He listened, became patient, stayed consistent, trusted the process and did the work. I want him to give himself credit for that.
When Cory talks about the people here and how he feels when he walks through our doors, that's exactly why we created Wake The Dead.
Hearing him say these things reminds me that we're doing something right.
Not everyone will understand the value of what we've built here, and that's okay.
Cory does. And he's living proof to me that we're doing something right. πβ€οΈ
And Cory... after all these years, you're pretty much stuck with us now. We'll make room for the wheelchair when the time comes. ππͺ
We said what we said. ππ
We're here to challenge you, teach you and help you get better.
We're not here to chase the latest trend or give you something new just because you're bored. Training is a lifestyle and progress takes time.
Wake The Dead Fitness isn't for everyone. But it is for SOMEONE. Maybe that someone is you. π

Funny enough, Brendan wasn't actually the one who found us... his wife found the gym for him. π He was looking to get more active again, get back into shape, lose some weight, build muscle, and just feel stronger and healthier.
Brendan joined us in January, and one thing I've really come to respect about him is how he makes fitness work around his life. He has a busy schedule, he's a dad, baby #2 is on the way, and spending time with his family is important to him. That means training can't always happen perfectly every single week β and that's okay.
What matters is that he never uses a busy period as a reason to completely give up. He does what he can, pays attention to his nutrition, and always finds his way back to the gym.
And when he's here, he's HERE. He listens, he works, he doesn't complain, and if we put a goal on the table, he'll do his best to follow through with it. He's pretty quiet, but you can always throw a joke his way and he'll take it. π He's just one of those genuinely good dudes who's nice to have around.
And can we talk about the nutrition for a second? This man is ALWAYS finding a way to get more protein into something. π I've gotten recipes from Brendan that I've actually gone home and tried myself. He's really taken ownership of that side of his training, and it shows.
His muscle gain, his strength, his body composition... you can absolutely see the difference from when he first walked through our doors in January.
Brendan, I'm incredibly proud of how far you've come. You don't need your life to revolve around the gym to make progress. You make fitness fit into your life, control the things you can control, and when life gets busy, **you always find your way back.** πͺπ
Also, keep the high-protein recipes coming. π I love getting the credit when I pass all these nutrition ideas on to my other clients... but to be fair, a good amount of them actually came from Brendan. I'll keep taking the credit though. ππ
