We will cover forward stroke, turning strokes and foot positioning along with decision making, rescues, equipment and more!

Come learn how to take your SUP on day-long adventures exploring our local waterways! We will cover topics like safety gear, decision making, and navigation while dialing in our forward stroke to efficiently paddle your board loaded up with gear.

Course locations will take place at either Cultus Lake or Harrison Lake, and will run from 9am-3:30pm. Prices are an introductory rate of $149/person.

After months of focusing on river paddling and courses, it felt really good to get back to teaching a flatwater course!

These two did amazing for their first time on boards and had a blast doing it. If you're interested in learning the ins and outs of paddling SUP, shoot me a message and we can get something set up!

We saw 11 other paddlers during our hour and a half session and ONLY 1 had a PFD (and most weren't wearing a leash). If you have a board and enjoy exploring all the amazing places SUP can take you, please take a course and learn the paddling and safety skills to keep you enjoying these adventures safely.

Paddle Canada 2026 River SUP Rollout is in the books!

4 straight days of intensive river SUP skill development and instructor training with an amazing crew. Huge thank you to all the participants for coming out for it and to Obiwan himself, Neil Gilson, for sharing his expertise with all of us.

Stoked to continue building and connecting the river SUP community with these people as instructors, instructor trainers and all around rad paddlers.

Still digesting and reflecting on all the good that happened throughout the event. Mentally and physically spent, but so full of stoke!

First purposeful flatwater paddle of the year and I'm stoked with how the river paddling has transferred over! 10kms around the lake with more laps under the 7min/km than over.

Epic day on the water for a river 2 skills course! This crew pushed their comfort zones, honed their whitewater skills, grew their confidence and had a ton of fun while doing it all. Exactly what these courses are all about!

36 glorious kilometers down the Fraser River, launching from Yale. Beautiful weather, fantastic conditions and a great crew.

I am stoked to be hosting a Paddle Canada certified Instructor and Instructor Trainer rollout event this June with Neil Gilson of SUP Bearfoot!

The focus of this rollout is to increase the number of qualified river SUP instructors and instructor trainers in Western Canada, to safely and effectively meet the growing demands for river paddling.

Over the 4-day event, participants will have the ability to work towards the following certifications: River 1 SUP Instructor, River 2 SUP Instructor, River 1 SUP Instructor Trainer and/or River 2 SUP Instructor Trainer.

In a rollout event, regular Paddle Canada prerequisites MAY be waived, provided EQUIVALENT teaching and paddling experience and knowledge can be demonstrated. All participants MUST have these prerequisite teaching and paddling skills PRIOR to the event, and a list of prerequisites can be seen on my website under "upcoming".
