IMPORTANT REC HOCKEY UPDATE

Rec families, evaluations are coming up and we know everyone is excited to get back on the ice!

📅 The general evaluation schedule is now posted on the CMHA website. This will give you an idea of your approximate ice times so you can start planning ahead.

📧 TEAM GENIUS is almost complete! Individual evaluation schedules are being finalized, and you will receive an email with your player’s specific evaluation times by Wednesday, September 2nd.

🥅 REP TRYOUTS START TODAY!

Our goalies are up first! We know tryouts are exciting, but they can also be a little stressful for players and families.

A few quick reminders as we get started:

⏰ Please double-check your player’s tryout times in TeamGenius before heading to the rink.

📋 Check in one hour before your scheduled ice time.

🏒 No parents in the stands. Standing room is available at the end of the rink.

❤️ Please be respectful of our players, coaches, evaluators, volunteers and other families.

🏒 MEET THE COACHES | RON LARSON | U15 A3

We’re excited to introduce Ron Larson as Head Coach of our U15 A3 team!

Ron brings decades of hockey experience to CMHA, both as a player and a coach. His coaching philosophy is built around one simple message: WE, not ME.”

For Ron, hockey is about winning as a team, losing as a team and always holding your head high. He believes a strong team culture helps players develop their skills while learning teamwork, respect, sportsmanship and confidence.

Ron’s experience includes coaching Tyke through Midget A, serving as both a Divisional Manager and Vice President with NWMHA, and most recently coaching CMHA’s U11 C1 team in 2025-26.

His playing background includes A-level minor hockey, the Humboldt Broncos and Senior A hockey in Edmonton. He also spent two summers as an on-ice instructor at the Clare Drake Development Camps at the University of Alberta.

For Ron, coaching is about **giving back and paying it forward** to the coaches who once gave their time to him. Now, he wants to do the same for the next generation by helping players develop their skills, become great teammates and, most importantly, have fun playing the game.
