For a long time, I was ashamed of my past. I worried about what people would think if they knew the whole story.
Going to jail and being a past party girl isn’t exactly something that casually comes up in conversation 😂 and for years, I kept that version of myself separate from the woman I am today. But the older I get, the more I realize I don’t need to erase who I was to be proud of who I’ve become.
My life looks completely different now. I’m a mom. A coach. A inspiring yoga teacher. I’ve built a life I’m genuinely proud of and none of that happened because I had a perfect past. It happened because at some point, I decided I wanted something different for myself 💛
This past April, I completed my yoga teacher training, and one day I would love to teach yoga and fitness inside a women’s prison. To stand in front of women who might feel like their story has already been written and show them that it hasn’t.
Because I know what it feels like to think you’ve completely messed up your life. And I also know what it feels like to completely turn it around 🫶
I’m still feeling a bit nervous to share this part of myself. But I’m finally at a place where I can look back without shame and realize just how far I have freaking come!!!
My past isn’t who I am anymore. But it is part of the reason I am who I am today 🤍
And maybe one day, I’ll finally write that book too! 👀
