On Sunday, four of our Lakeside Ladies went down to Crowsnest Pass Golf Club to compete in there annual Ladies Open Scramble. They did real well! Congratulations to Lynn Gregory Lorelei Short Susan Barham Kate Major for playing some great golf and bringing home the hardware as Low Gross Champions.
Men’s Chestermere Cup Horse race saw Team Red sweep the Win, Place, Show positions and take a 4 point lead into the final round!
2026 Men’s Chestermere Cup is in the books with Team Red jumping out to an early lead!

Round One is officially in the books with the Team Red jumping out to the early lead over Team Blue. Can Team Blue battle back tomorrow? Or will Team Red hang on for the win? Stay tuned to find out.

FIVE STRAIGHT!
The 2026 Men’s Club Championship belongs to Trevor Wood — and once again, Trevor has etched his name in the history of Lakeside Golf Club.
This year’s championship marks Trevor’s 13th Men’s Club Championship title and his fifth consecutive victory. An incredible run of dominance and consistency.
Trevor put together three outstanding rounds of:

for a three-day total of 204 — 9 under par.
That 204 is Trevor’s second-lowest overall score ever in a Club Championship. His only lower total came a few years ago when he finished at an incredible 15 under par to win the championship.
And perhaps the most impressive stat of the weekend?
Trevor didn’t make his first bogey until the 36th hole.
Three rounds. 54 holes. 9 under par. Five straight championships.

THE SWEEP!
What a year for Sue Christison! She has officially completed the sweep of all the major Ladies’ Club Championship titles — an incredible accomplishment that speaks to her consistency, skill and longevity.
This year, Sue captured all four major titles:
Her 18th Ladies Club Championship. Sue posted gross rounds of 83, 84 and 89 to finish with a three-day total of 256, taking the title in a field of 25 competitors.
Her 5th Ladies Overall Low Net Championship. With net scores of 69, 70 and 75, Sue finished at 214 over three days to claim the overall low net championship.
Her 3rd Senior Ladies Club Championship. Sue followed that up with net rounds of 69 and 75 for a two-day total of 144, capturing the Senior Ladies Club Championship from a field of 19 competitors.
And to complete the sweep, that same 144 total earned Sue her the Senior Ladies Overall Low Net Championship.
18th. 5th. 3rd. 1st. Four championships. One incredible season. And the full sweep of the major awards.

THE BAR & LOUNGE FLIGHT HAS A NEW HOME
Every Club Championship has a trophy for the best golfer.
And then there’s the Bar & Lounge Flight.
Affectionately known as the “Lounge Lizard,” this is a trophy with a different kind of prestige. It’s not necessarily about the scorecard. It’s about the stories. The late nights. The questionable decisions. The “there’s no way that actually happened” moments.
And most importantly… the stories that somehow get better every time they’re told.
This year’s winner has officially added his name to the Lakeside folklore.
Congratulations to Derek Acheson — the youngest-ever Lounge Lizard!
But Derek’s victory comes with a little family history.
His dad, Dave Acheson, claimed the Lounge Lizard in 2024, making Derek just the second son to follow his father onto this prestigious trophy.
So what do we have here?
A chip off the old block? Or maybe the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree?
Either way, the Acheson family has officially established itself as a force to be reckoned with… both on the course and, apparently, in the lounge.
Congratulations, Derek!
We’re sure the stories from this year will be told responsibly, accurately, and with absolutely no embellishment whatsoever.
…Probably.

2026 Junior Girls Champion!
A big congratulations to Chloe Major, our 2026 Junior Girls Club Champion!
Chloe was the lone competitor in this year’s Junior Girls Club Championship, taking on 36 holes from the white tees and finishing rounds of 92 and 82 for a two day total of 174.
This championship marks a special milestone for Chloe, as it’s her final season competing as a junior. Next season, she’ll make the move into the Ladies Club Championship - an exciting next step in her golfing journey!
Before then, Chloe has one more stretch of junior golf ahead of her as she gets set to compete in several more tournaments before returning to SAIT’s Women’s Golf Team this fall for their fall season!
