Here is the schedule for our semi-final matchup with the Fredericton Royals.

We’re looking forward to getting back to Memorial Field for some playoff baseball!

ISLES LOSE HEARTBREAKER

In what was a tightly contested game all game long, team BC will walk away with the 4-3 win in extra innings.

The Isles would lead 1-0 most of the game before British Columbia would take the lead in the bottom of the 6th inning thanks to a 3 run home run.

But the Isles would fight back like they always do, in the bottom of the 7th inning, Dillon Doucette would send a no-doubter over the left field wall to tie it all up at 3.

Heading to the top of the 8th, the Isles couldn’t capitalize while their opponents did.

Jordan Stevenson, Nathan Van Putten and Haden Dow shared the pitching duties.

A lot of possibilities today for a lot of teams. Islanders plan, win at 12 and keep defensive runs to a minimum for tiebreakers. First, head to head if two teams tied and runs per defensive innings if three teams end up tie. 3pm games are Quarters should if we finish 2nd or 3rd. Straight to the semis at 6 if we finish first. May not know until 2-2:30 where we finish so stay tuned. GO ISLES GO!

GAME DAY!

One last round robin game and we’ll be looking to finish it off on a high note.

Game time vs BC is 12pm.

ISLES WIN!

In a thrilling game that had a bit of everything - the Islanders prevailed squeaking out a 2-1 win to beat Saskatchewan.

Brody McDonald was stellar on the mound, going 6 innings while striking out 7 and only allowing one run on four hits.

Nathan Van Putten would come in for the save, striking out two and getting some help from center fielder Jack Kraft who would make an unbelievable catch at the center field wall.

The offence was spread throughout the lineup, with eight hitters notching atleast one hit. Logan MacDougall made no mistake getting his first start of the tournament, taking a pitch deep in his first at bat of the game to give the Isles a 2-0 lead.

Right back at it tomorrow at 12:00 as we’ll look to finish the round robin on a high note vs British Columbia.

Due to the forecasted weather for Sunday, Baseball Canada and the tournament committee have approved changes to the schedule for Saturday, August 22nd (see below)

ISLES WIN!

The bats got off to a slow start on day one but they were anything but to start day two.

The Islanders jumped out to an early lead in the first thanks to a Max Grant two run shot, followed by a six run second inning highlighted by a Jack Kraft home run. They’d go on to score another three in the 5th inning to end the game.

Haden Dow was stellar on the mound, only allowing one run while striking out 7.

We’re right back at it this evening at 6pm as we’ll take on team Saskatchewan!
