I'm Coach Cayla

My job is my passion. Exercising has helped me personally in so many ways I want to share it with as many people as I can.

Somewhere along the way, I burnt out.

I’ve been pushing through it for a very long time, telling myself I could keep going, keep showing up, and keep giving everything I have. But the truth is, I don’t feel well right now — mentally or physically — and I need to listen to that.

Working as a coach and helping people build strong, lifelong habits means SO much to me. It’s something I genuinely love and feel incredibly lucky to do. I care so deeply about the people I work with and my family that, somewhere along the way, putting other people’s needs first became the norm instead of the exception.
The nature of my job is to encourage people, support them, and help them become stronger versions of themselves — not just inside the gym, but in their lives outside of it too. I’m proud of that. But I’ve also realized that I became very good at encouraging strength in others while quietly masking my own struggles.

From the outside, you may never have noticed. I’ve continued to show up, coach, encourage, smile, and do what I do. But behind the scenes, I’ve been running on empty for a while.

So, I’m taking some personal time off.

This isn’t because I don’t love what I do. Quite the opposite. I care so much about the work and the people I get to work with that I want to make sure I can continue doing it at the level I’m proud of — and that you deserve.

I’m incredibly grateful to the people who have stepped up, picked up classes, supported me, and surrounded me with so much kindness while I take this time. I truly couldn’t ask for a better community.
For now, I’ll be unplugging as much as I can and focusing on what matters most: getting myself healthy, grounded, and back to feeling like me again.

I’ll still be posting upcoming program registrations, and I’m available by email if you need to reach me. Just know that replies may take a little longer than usual while I take this time to reset. I know I’ll come back stronger. Not because I need to prove anything, but because I’m finally giving myself the same patience, grace, and care that I encourage others to give themselves. Maybe that’s the biggest lesson in all of this. Strong leaders have limps, they need breaks too

LIFT SO HARD — WE’RE BACK… SQUAT CYCLE 🏋️‍♀️😜

🔁This 7-week Lift So Hard Cycle is all about learning the Back Squat and building real strength from the ground up.

1️⃣Week one is to establish a baseline, it can be treated like a 1RM test or for newer athletes it will be more like an introduction to the lift then spend the next few weeks building strength and confidence with smart progressions like pause squats and tempo squats. These variations help athletes learn control, improve positioning, and build strength in the hardest part of the lift. From there we gradually increase intensity, allow the body to recover with a deload week, and finish by retesting for a new PR.

Why this structure works
1RM Test/Or Intro to Lift

Volume foundation

Pause squat (strength in the hole)

Tempo squat (control & positioning)

Heavy strength work

Deload

PR week 💥
Technique → Control → Strength → Peak

💪This program is really geared toward people who want to learn how to lift safely, build strength, and improve bone density in a supportive group environment.

🏋️‍♂️🏋️‍♀️🏋Whether you’re newer to lifting or looking to sharpen your technique, this cycle is designed to help you move better and get stronger.

This program sold out before I even had the chance to advertise it 👏

👉🏽If you’re interested in joining a future Lift So Hard block, head over to my website coachcayla.ca to get on the waitlist. If a spot opens up in this cycle I’ll reach out, and you’ll also be added to the mailing list for the next registration. ✉️
