After a long day in the sun yesterday, Sisco took today to remind us that she doesn't have to be the best girl EVERY time she goes into the ring ;) And yet, despite a little push back, she is still wonderful, she still gets treats, she is still very much loved. The ring today was sloppy and messy and a little complicated to navigate and yet she still cleared the jumps, came home safely, and enjoyed her break under the misting tents. Good job Sisco and Brenna.
And kudos to Brenna for helping support other riders in the ring. As a competitive sport, it's lovely to see riders encourage and support each other in the ring

This morning started off well enough, and then it all sort of went wonky. But despite the chaos, the team pulled together and did well! Miss Katie and Moe represented themselves beautifully and had some solid rounds. Bryan (even though newly missing a shoe) went around the ring with a little less speed than normal but that didn't hamper his ability to overjump a thing. So much incredible progress this season! The team was consistent in their ribbon results, bringing 3rds and 5ths home.
Tomorrow a BIG class for Sisco, and Miss Audrey (Master of Ponies) and Biggs conquer the jumper rings! Less heat though Mother Nature, we'd be perfectly fine with that. I'm going to go sit in the freezer.

Reminder to Saturday riders, we are away this morning. Brenna and Miss Katie are attending the final Horses at Work show and are unavailable to teach. Please send good luck, cool breezes and a delay in the rain forecasted ;)

Today is 10 years of Sisco! 10 years ago we brought her home to keep her safe, hoping she would be sound enough to at least exist in the paddock. Here she is now, a decade later, winning classes, teaching lessons and supporting the new generation of riders. I'm quite sure there are only a handful of ponies that are so lucky and so loved in history as Sisco is to us ❤️

10 years ago today, our Touchstone Farm page launched. A whole decade of horses, learning, riding and family. That's a pretty good record. Happy Facebook-aversary to us! The farm has been around longer than that, but a whole decade on social media and still standing...that's not bad at all. Thank you to all our supporters, clients and families for being as enthusiastic about our critters as we've been. It's heartwarming to see so many of you (and the critters) are still here with us

Chores and lessons done for today, so the ladies get to sneak into the big ring for a bit. The heat is gone, a lovely breeze is blowing, and its a gorgeous night for a ride ❤️

This weekend we changed our lesson plan and tried a different approach to support a client. That's our job. We want everyone to succeed, and that doesn't mean it looks like the same thing for everyone. We have an AMAZING team of horses that are capable of so many wonderful things; riding, groundwork, EAL (equine assisted learning), support, love, patience and compassion. We look after them, so they can help look after clients. Just let us know how we can help

Let me share with you Miss D. While not our youngest rider, her dedication to safe learning and riding has come leaps and bounds in the past couple of months. Not only is she back in the saddle, she's learning new things and loving it. Never let your fears dictate your abilities. You got this Miss D!
I love our horses because they love what they do. I'm never sure who is more excited, the rider learning the new thing or the horses that get to share it with them. Go Toki ❤️

Week 3 of camp was a success! A rowdy and fun group that kept us laughing all week! We are so so proud of our crew this session. Miss O, after an incident on Tuesday, chose to ride that same horse for the show. Outstanding bravery, determination and guts and we're so impressed! Everyone learned, had fun, made friends and took home some wonderful memories. Thank you campers, families and staff for making each week so special
