Flashback to IBJJF San Jose Open where our coaches went out to represent MVM Academy in competition!
Pack your gear, hit the road, compete with your teammates, and make memories youâll talk about for years.
Some of the best parts of Jiu-Jitsu happen outside your home gym. Get out there, compete somewhere new, and experience it together. đ¤

Thinking about competing?
Competition is a great way to fact check your Jiu Jitsu, develop your mental toughness, and support your teammates from the front line!
As an instructor/coach having firsthand competition experience is a great way to pass that knowledge down to your students!
Our coaches and teammates are getting ready to compete at IBJJF Jiu Jitsu Con in Las Vegas next week! Be sure to wish them luck!

More about Coach ColwynÂ
I started training Muay Thai in 2018 and Jiu Jitsu in 2022. But way back I did some karate as a kid.
Â
Best advice for beginners:Â
Focus on learning techniques and how to use them rather than on trying to "win" in the gym.Â
Favourite technique or position:Â
Triangle Choke đÂ
Â
Fun fact: I loved martial arts so much as a kid that I dressed up as a ninja 6 years in a row for Halloween.Â
Why MVM: MVM has given me more than just a place to train. The community is what I stay for. Sharing the mats with a variety of amazing people who are trying to learn Martial Arts and improve is what it's all about!
