COMMITTED | Saraya Reyes

Congratulations to Saraya Reyes on her commitment to Algoma University, where she will continue her academic and athletic career with the Algoma Thunderbirds Women’s Soccer team.

Saraya joined Calgary Blizzard in 2022, nervous about whether she would even make the team. Receiving that first acceptance email remains one of her proudest memories, and what followed became much more than just another chapter in her soccer career.

Under Coaches Stuart and Ann, Saraya found her love for the game again while continuing to develop her skills and confidence as a player. She also credits Coach Tayla for believing in her, welcoming her back, and providing the honesty and dedication that helped her continue moving forward.

As Saraya prepares for university soccer, she shared what her time at Blizzard has meant to her:

“My time with Calgary Blizzard has always felt like home. As I head to Algoma University, I’ll carry every lesson with me. Thank you, Blizzard, for believing in me.” 💙

From arriving in 2022 unsure of what was ahead to now earning the opportunity to continue her soccer career at the university level, we’re so proud of how far you’ve come, Saraya.

We’re excited to congratulate Ruth Adekugbe as she begins a new chapter with Calgary Wild FC!

Ruth will be stepping away from her role with Calgary Blizzard to join the Wild full-time as Academy Assistant Coach with the U23s and Head Coach of the U18s.

We’re grateful for Ruth’s passion, commitment, and contributions to our female program and the impact she has made on our players.

At Blizzard, we’re proud to support pathways not only for our athletes, but for our coaches and staff as they continue to grow in the game.

Congratulations to our Calgary Blizzard teams who finished in the top three of their CMSA league standings! What a way to cap off the outdoor season.

Across the club, we’ve seen our players compete, grow, support one another and represent Blizzard with pride all season long. There’s so much to celebrate as we wrap up another outdoor season!

A huge THANK YOU to our coaches, managers, volunteers and families for everything you do behind the scenes and on the sidelines to support our players and teams.

COMMITTED | Payton Fully

Congratulations to Payton Fully on her commitment to Algoma University, where she will continue her academic and athletic career with the Algoma Thunderbirds Women’s Soccer team.

Payton’s journey to university soccer has been built through years of early mornings, long drives, practices, games, challenges, and plenty of moments that required her to keep pushing forward. Through it all, she has grown into a determined and resilient athlete, but even more importantly, someone her family, coaches, and teammates are incredibly proud of.

As Payton prepares for this next step, she reflected on the people who have been part of getting her there:

“I could not have made it to where I am today without the support and guidance from my coaches and teammates here at Calgary Blizzard. A huge thank you to my youth coach Claudio, who contributed greatly to my development as an athlete and, more importantly, as a person, always pushing me to reach my full potential.”

For Payton’s parents, seeing her accept a scholarship to Algoma is the culmination of years spent watching her fall in love with the game and work toward this goal. In their words, “We’re proud of the soccer player you’ve become, but even more proud of the person you are — determined, kind, resilient, and always willing to give your best.”

Payton, we’re incredibly proud to have been part of your journey and excited to see where it takes you next.

COMMITTED | Kinley Boulter

Congratulations to Kinley Boulter on her commitment to Troy University, where she will continue her academic and athletic career with the Troy Trojans at the NCAA Division I level.

Kinley has continued to develop into an exceptional and versatile player, competing with both Calgary Blizzard and the Calgary Wild Academy. Whether lining up as a centre back, outside back, or central midfielder, she brings composure, technical quality, and a competitive edge that make her an invaluable part of every team she represents.

This season, Kinley played a key role in helping our APDL 2010G team capture its third consecutive league championship, while also building on a season that saw Calgary Blizzard qualify for Nationals. Her versatility, soccer IQ, and willingness to do whatever the team needs have helped her earn this incredible opportunity.

Reflecting on her journey, Kinley shared:
“I’m incredibly grateful for everything soccer has given me and for the opportunity to continue my journey at Troy University. I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished, but even more thankful for the coaches who believed in me, my teammates who challenged and supported me, and everyone who made every season so memorable. The lessons, friendships, and experiences I’ve gained through the game have shaped who I am, and I’m excited for what’s ahead as a Trojan!”
