Coach Announcement: U17 Purple

We’re excited to announce Audra Schneider as the SBR Rockies U17 Purple Head Coach for the 2027 season!

Audra brings more than 20 years of coaching experience, along with a strong athletic background as both a NCAA Div 1 softball & volleyball competitor. She has led teams from Timbits through U15 levels and has a proven track record of helping athletes and teams achieve success on and off the field.

A passionate advocate for player development, Audra’s coaching philosophy centers on building individual skills, fostering a strong team culture, and encouraging a growth mindset where athletes learn and grow through both success and adversity.

Most recently, Audra coached the U15 Purple team that earned a silver medal at the Softball Alberta A Provincials, advancing to U15 Canadian Championships as one of 2 teams representing Alberta. She continues to be a leader in minor girls softball development in Calgary and the surrounding area.

Meet U19 Purple Head Coach!

As we look ahead to the 2027 season and our upcoming ID Camp, we’re excited to introduce Chris Kemp, who will serve as the SBR Rockies U19 Purple Head Coach.

Chris brings 10 years of coaching experience and has coached athletes at the U12 through U19 levels. As a NCCP Competition Introduction trained coach, he is passionate about player development, positive leadership, and building a culture rooted in respect, effort, and teamwork.

There is also plenty of familiarity and continuity, as Chris was part of the coaching staff with the 2026 U19 Purple team and now steps into the Head Coach role for 2027.

Hello Softball Athletes,

We are excited to host the fourth annual SBR Rockies Athlete ID Camp for U13 – U19 A & B athletes for the 2026–2027 season.

Our commitment to player and coach development is the foundation of excellence throughout the Rockies program, from U7 to U19. Each season, we build on what we’ve learned to continually strengthen our program, enhance the athlete experience, and create more opportunities for growth and success.

Athletes selected through the ID Camp will train together throughout the off-season to focus on skill development and prepare for the upcoming season.

👉 2026 ID CAMP OVERVIEW

🗓️ Dates: September 11 - 13, 2026                 
•  Friday, September 11 — 6:00-9:00 PM
•  Saturday, September 12 — 9:00 AM-7:00 PM
•  Sunday, September 13 — 9:00 AM-7:00 PM

📍Location:  Glamorgan Ball Diamonds: 46 Ave SW, Calgary AB


Format: Athletes are expected to attend on ALL three dates to be evaluated. Players are assessed on their performance by various evaluators on the field. Coaches will also be monitoring and watching players throughout the tryouts.

1️⃣ Day 1 (Sept 11, 2026): Athlete Performance Metrics and Pitching / Catching
*Note: Players will be allowed to leave after metrics testing except for Pitchers & Catchers

2️⃣ Day 2 (Sept 12, 2026): Skill Drills: Defense & Offense

3️⃣ Day 3 (Sept 13, 2026): Skill Drills: Defense & Offense

Team Selection: Selected players will be notified within 7-10 days. Athlete talent and numbers will dictate the number of teams for each category.

Registration is now open! Registration link can be found in our bio or on www.softball.com. We encourage athletes to register early to secure their spot.

We look forward to seeing all athletes at the SBR Rockies Athlete ID Camp and wish everyone the best throughout the evaluation process.

📣 Casino Volunteer Shifts.
🗓️ Friday September 18 & Saturday September 19, 2026

South Bow River Softball Association is looking for volunteers for our Casino Fundraiser.

Please note this volunteer shift is ONLY eligible for your 2027 Season Volunteer Bond. You cannot use this shift towards your 2026 Season Volunteer Bond.

Our program has the opportunity to run two days/nights at Pure Casino which raises approximately $60,000+. We use the funds to purchase equipment and pay for services, and without this funding our registration fees would increase significantly for families using our programs.

1420 Meridian Road NE, Calgary

You must bring your government issued picture ID with you. This is an Alberta Gaming rule.

‼️If you sign up for more than one shift it must be the same job for each shift. For example: you can NOT be a chip runner one day and then a general manager the next.
