Another successful annual Fitness Centre Cleaning Weekend is complete!
A huge thank you to our incredible Fitness team for the heart, energy, and commitment they brought to an enormous weekend of work. From cleaning every piece of fitness equipment and deep-cleaning studios, offices, storage spaces, walls, and baseboards, to moving much of the gym for carpet cleaning – the team tackled it all.
A special thank you to our Housekeeping team for going above and beyond with additional deep-cleaning throughout the Fitness Centre, and to our Operations team for completing numerous painting and touch-up projects.
The Fitness Centre looks amazing, and it’s all thanks to the tremendous teamwork happening behind the scenes. The physical work involved in a weekend like this is no small feat, and we’re incredibly grateful for everyone who helped make it happen.

As we get ready to gear up for a new season of badminton, we would like to take a quick look back at one of the highlights at the end of last season. Every year at Junior Nationals, there is a male and female athlete from each age group who receives the "Sportsmanship" Award. These are now called The True Sport Award. Badminton Canada honors these players at national championships who best exemplify elite sportsmanship, fairness, and the core True Sport principles as chosen by official umpires.
We would like to congratulate our very own Harper Swan for winning one of these awards. Well done Harper!

After nearly 40 years of dedicated service, we are honoured to celebrate the retirement of one of The Glencoe Club's finest, Kim Sourisack.
Kim joined The Glencoe Club in December 1986 and spent her entire career serving members through the Café. Over the decades, she became a familiar face to generations of members and a valued colleague to countless staff.
Throughout her remarkable tenure, Kim received numerous recognitions, including Long Term Service Awards through 35 years of service, Excellence Awards in 2010 and 2020, and the prestigious Master of Service Award in 2023. While these honours reflect her commitment and dedication, those who know Kim best will remember her for the relationships she built and the kindness she showed every day.
Kim began her career as a sandwich maker in the Glen Harvest Café before later becoming an attendant, helping with bussing and delivering food to members. No matter the role, she approached her work with quiet dedication, pride, and a warm spirit.
"Kim is loved by all. The members know her by name and ask about her when she is not in. Her coworkers look to her for training, where to find things, her secret stashes of colouring pages, and so much more. She cares about all of us. Her mild and quiet manner is a wonderful contrast to the hustle and bustle of the Café, and she will be missed."
— Christie Badick, Café 29 Manager
Though she never sought the spotlight, Kim's impact on The Glencoe Club has been profound. Through nearly four decades of service, she helped create the welcoming atmosphere that members have come to know and love.
Kim, thank you for your dedication, kindness, and loyalty. Your contributions have left a lasting mark on our Club community, and you will be deeply missed by members and staff alike.
Congratulations on an extraordinary career, and best wishes for a happy, healthy, and well-deserved retirement.

We had a great group of players head west for a very well run, social and competitive Canadian Badminton Masters National Championships. The tournament was so popular that it filled up in less than half a day or we would have had even more members representing the club in attendance! For those who went, the weather was cooperative and the time on court was excellent. Congratulations to a few of our members who came away with podium finishes! They are:
