Our Modern + Contemporary program develops strength, musicality, artistry, and authentic movement through a variety of influential techniques and styles.

✨ Junior 1/2 – Vocational 4
✨ I.S.T.D. Modern 
✨ Limon, Horton, Graham and Release techniques 
✨ Contemporary techniques and exploration
✨ Grounded, dynamic movement using torso, space + weight
✨ Builds strength, versatility + artistry
✨ Ballet required at Pre-Vocational level and above
✨ Classes taught by highly accredited, experienced, passionate dance educators

Note - At the Vocational level, dancers train twice weekly, deepening their technique and preparing for more advanced and pre-professional Contemporary training 🙌

Our comprehensive Ballet program combines I.S.T.D. & R.A.D. training from Pre-Primary through Advanced Vocational levels, giving dancers a strong foundation in classical technique while supporting their individual growth.

✨ Pre-Primary – Vocational 4
✨ I.S.T.D. & R.A.D. methodology and Open classes
✨ Ballet examinations offered when dancers are ready
✨ Pre-Pointe begins at Intermediate 2
✨ Pointe readiness and progression supported by faculty & medical professional approval
✨ Variation Class for Vocational 3 & 4 dancers, learning classical repertoire and providing a glimpse into the Professional world of Ballet 
✨ Preparing dancers with a strong technical foundation
✨ Classes taught by highly accredited, experienced, passionate dance educators

From first positions to pointe, we’re committed to developing strong, confident, expressive dancers, in body, mind + spirit 🤍

Note: To register for any Ballet class above and including Pre Junior 2, students will automatically be enrolled in both Ballet classes for their allotted level. To register for any Vocational level Ballet class, students will automatically be enrolled in all classes for their allotted level.

Our CYDC Intensive was one for the books ❤️‍🔥

26 talented, passionate, and inspiring dancers.
4 incredible choreographers. Countless hours of dancing, creating, learning, laughing, and growing 💫

We are beyond grateful for the amazing artists Kyrsten Blair Kristen Arciaga emma boon and Daniela, who poured into our dancers this week and challenged them to move, create, explore, and share their passion 💞

Watching these dancers step outside their comfort zones, encourage one another, and discover new possibilities in their movement was such a joy 🥹

We’re leaving this week inspired, energized, and SO excited for all that’s ahead for CYDC this season!

We are especially grateful for the incredible mentors and directors Laura Barcelo Rae-Lee Brower-Herbert Ainsley Sudds who continue to pour into our dancers and help create such a beautiful opportunity for them to learn, grow, and discover their artistry. What a gift it is to have artists and mentors who believe in the next generation and are willing to invest in who they are becoming 💖
