As previously mentioned, I helped referee at APU Provincials yesterday. .it went very smooth. Notably, they were using a new scoring and light system called Arena PL. I was very impressed. Small tablets are used by the refs, displaying the load, the lifter and the colored buttons. The resulting decision displays on the lifter info screen above the platform and carrys through to the scoring computer. All the sorer really does is enter the next attempts. This was the first live contest test of the system, and went near perfect.

Proud to be doing my duty as a referee at APU Provincials tomorrow, for the men's master classes, and again on Sunday for sure me Bench only. Should be fun!

Joe was a referee for my fist contest in 1985 and taught me a lot that day. I've been proud to call him friend these 41 year, and will be both sad and proud to attend his Memorial in Pincher Creek on Saturday. Rest in peace Red Light!

Your humble Strongarm proprietor reached a milestone birthday today, 70 years young. Don't feel a day over 65! Blind in one eye, new aches and pains every day, getting old really sucks. No presents, a few nice orders coming in would help!

40 years to the day since my own very first meet, I referred a session of this meet today, lots of strong young folk (more on this part tomorrow) at Kings fitness north. Great meet, went very smooth. Meet director and gym owner Leo King lifted very well, always a challenge.
