🌾 Proper hay storage starts long before winter arrives.
The way hay is stored can have a direct impact on its quality, nutritional value, and your horse's health. Protecting hay from moisture, promoting good airflow, and checking for signs of mould are all important steps in preserving your forage throughout the season.
A little preparation now can help reduce waste and ensure your horses have access to safe, nutritious hay when they need it most.

🌿 Have Your Say on the Future of Kootenay Plains 🌿
Alberta is proposing to consolidate the Kootenay Plains Ecological Reserve and Kootenay Plains Provincial Recreation Area into a new Kootenay Plains Provincial Park.
The proposal would help better balance recreation and conservation by allowing more effective visitor management while continuing to protect the area's important wildlife habitat, rare plants, cultural resources, and Indigenous values. Recreational opportunities such as hiking, mountain biking, fishing, camping, and equestrian use would continue, with sensitive ecological areas remaining protected.
The changes would also add portions of the North Saskatchewan River and associated gravel beds to the protected area, resulting in a net increase of approximately 100 hectares within Alberta's parks and protected areas system.
This landscape holds deep significance for several First Nations, and consultation is underway to ensure Indigenous values, traditional uses, and Treaty rights continue to be supported.
Learn more about the proposed amendments and how to share your feedback by visiting the Alberta Parks website: https://www.albertaparks.ca/albertaparks-ca/management-and-land-use/parks-system/
