A Day at Haven
Nurture your mind, body & spirit.
At Haven, each practice is offered with intention.
Rather than focusing on staying calm all the time, we explore what it means to move with the natural rhythms of the nervous system.
Throughout a retreat, some practices may gently invite us toward activation, energy, movement, engagement and connection. Others invite down-regulation, slowing, softening, grounding and rest.
Because regulation doesn’t mean being relaxed all the time.
Our nervous systems naturally fluctuate throughout the day. Sometimes we may feel activated, restless or overwhelmed. At other times, we may feel depleted, disconnected or low in energy. Both are part of being human.
Through gentle titration exercises, we practice experiencing manageable amounts of activation and settling, building awareness of what our bodies need and exploring ways to move toward greater regulation.
A day at Haven may weave together:
🌿 Breath practices
🌿 Mindful movement
🌿 Somatic exercises
🌿 Grounding and sensory practices
🌿 Guided meditation
🌿 Yoga Nidra and deep rest
🌿 Reflection and nervous system education
🌿 Connection, community and moments of stillness
There is no expectation to feel one particular way.
Instead, we create opportunities to notice, explore, choose and respond, nurturing the mind, body and spirit while developing practices that can continue long after the retreat ends.
Rest. Restore. Return to You.
Haven Restorative Retreats
08/26/2026
At Haven Restorative Retreats, regulation isn’t about asking you to be calm, still, or relaxed all the time.
Our retreats are intentionally created around four things:
✨ Community — Being in a space where you can share an experience with others while still honouring your own needs.
🌿 Choice — Invitations rather than expectations. Participate, modify, rest, observe, move, or simply be. You are encouraged to listen to what feels supportive for you.
🤍 Connection — Opportunities to connect with yourself, with others, and with the environment around you, without pressure to share more than you want to.
🌙 Regulation — Through practices such as nervous system education, somatic exploration, trauma-informed movement, rest, reflection, and Yoga Nidra, we create opportunities to explore what regulation can look and feel like for you.
There is no “right” way to experience a Haven retreat.
You don’t need to arrive feeling calm.
You don’t need to be experienced with gentle embodied movement or meditation.
You don’t need to share your story.
And you don’t need to experience the day in the same way as anyone else.
Come as you are. Choose what you need. Find moments of connection, community, and restoration.
That’s Haven. 🌿

At Haven, an altar is more than a collection of beautiful objects, it is an intentional anchor for the circle we create together.
Each retreat altar is thoughtfully curated to help hold sacred space, ground the group, and create a shared focal point for intention and reflection. It may include elements such as crystals, essential oils, sage or other botanicals, candles, meaningful novels or poetry, and objects inspired by nature.
The altar becomes a quiet reminder that we are stepping away from the demands of everyday life and into a space created for presence, connection, and restoration. As we gather around it, it can serve as a collective anchor, holding the intentions of the group while also leaving room for each person to have their own individual experience.
At Haven, creating the space is part of the retreat itself. The details matter, because feeling grounded, welcomed, and held can help set the tone for everything that follows.
08/24/2026
At Haven, we begin by creating a circle, not just with bolsters and blankets, but with intention.
The circle helps set the tone for the space: grounded, welcoming, and without hierarchy. A place where we can slow down, connect, and simply arrive as we are.
Before we begin the practices, we create the container.

A Day at Haven
A Haven retreat is an invitation to step away from the demands of everyday life and spend a day intentionally slowing down.
Your day is thoughtfully paced, with space to rest, reconnect, learn, and simply be.
Through trauma-informed yoga, somatic practices, nervous system education, guided reflection, mindfulness, and Yoga Nidra, you’ll explore gentle ways of supporting your nervous system, without pressure to perform, achieve, or push beyond what feels right for you.
Between practices, there is time to pause, enjoy nourishing plant-based food, connect with others, and settle into the retreat environment.
And because rest is part of the experience, not something you have to earn, we intentionally create space for stillness.
You’ll leave with practical tools you can bring into everyday life, along with a curated Haven gift to continue supporting your restorative practices at home.
Rest. Restore. Return to You.

This retreat has been on my heart for a long time.
As an animal advocate myself, I know how deeply this work can affect our nervous systems. We carry grief, frustration, compassion, and hope, often all at once.
That’s why I created this half-day Haven retreat in Calgary. It’s a space to slow down, connect with other advocates, and learn practical ways to care for your nervous system while continuing to care for animals.
🥳 I’m so excited that our first participant has registered!
If you’ve been feeling emotionally drained by advocacy or simply need permission to rest, I’d love to have you join us.
