Hiked Mount Lipsett yesterday β14.5 km with 719 metres of elevation gain. The wildflowers, unusual rock formations and views from the ridge were beautiful.
Afterward, I discovered a strange story connected to the area. In 1967, three men near the Highwood Ranger Station reported seeing a silent metallic object descend toward the trees. They claimed it hovered, dropped something smaller into the wilderness and then disappeared at high speed. Two photographs were taken and the incident was investigated, but never conclusively explained. Last picture.

Great hike at King Creek Ridge.
Internet says "mostly famous for its grueling 720-meter elevation gain, hiking forums track unsettling experiences in the surrounding Kananaskis trails. Backpackers have woken up to hundreds of boot prints circling their tents or reported the sensation of being intensely watched by dark, unmoving human silhouettes standing on gravel paths near the trailheads" π±
Super blessed π to have my Daughter with me on the hike β€οΈ

Great hike at Hell's Ridge - Legend says that Hellβs Ridge was named after a local rancher who had βa hell of a time rounding up his cattleβ on the slopes of this ridge. After seeing this tree; there may be another reason. Happy Trekking β
