Groups and rides like this are an important part of the fabric of Calgary and where our cycling community is headed. They create space for people to ride together, meet new people, build friendships, and remind everyone just how strong the bike community in this city really is.

Year to date, our Bathtub Bikes 17th Avenue SE location has given away more than 220 kids’ bikes.
Many are given away during our annual My First Bike kids’ bike giveaway in May, but it doesn’t stop there. Throughout the season, we give bikes away on almost a daily basis. We try to always have a kids’ bike ready at our 17th Avenue location for a young rider who needs one.

This year we also expanded what we can do through Bathtub Bikes @ Bike HUB, in partnership with Youth en Route, with our Kids Bike Trade-Up Program.

The program covers everything from strider bikes all the way up to 26-inch youth bikes, and more than 300 bikes have already been traded up this year.
These bikes are repaired and tuned by our amazing volunteers, with support from professional mechanics and youth working in our shops while learning real-world job and mechanical skills.

Donate a bike! Kids’ bikes and adult bikes are always welcome, in any condition. Donations help us continue providing affordable and free bicycles throughout our community.

Want to understand your bike better and confidently handle basic repairs? Bikes 101 is a beginner-friendly, hands-on course with small classes and plenty of one-on-one instruction.
🔧 You’ll learn: • Bicycle ABCs Air, Brakes & Chain
• Flat repair & tube replacement
• Wheel removal & installation
• Chain cleaning & lubrication
• Brake adjustments & pad inspection
• Basic gears & derailleur adjustments
