This introductory course is perfect for coaches working with Junior Development programs or school based Track and Field, giving you the foundational skills to coach across a multi event environment.

Participants will get hands on instruction in:

💥 Throwing Events
🏋️ Intro to Supplemental Strength Training for young athletes

🍁Five amazing BC athletes have been named to Team Canada for the 2026 World Athletics Road Running Championships, taking place September 19 to 21 in Copenhagen, Denmark!‍🏃‍🏃🏾‍♀️‍➡️🏃🏿

Team Canada will battle for world titles in the mile, 5km, and half marathon, and BC is bringing serious talent to the streets.

💪 MEMBER STORY: ELISE DRAKE


Elise has a story of resilience, determination and grit.

A season ending ACL injury at the end of her freshman year took Elise out of her final U20 championships. Surgery followed in the summer of 2025. Then came the part nobody posts about: a full year of rehab. Hours of physio. Days. Weeks. Months. The unglamorous, repetitive, grind it out work of building a knee back from zero. 🔧

She set one goal. Get back in the hammer circle at the 2026 National Championships. 🔨

She didn't just make it. She made the FINAL, and finished top 12. 🔥

This year wasn't about podiums or PBs. It was about proving to herself that the work pays off and that she would come back stronger than before. She did. Next stop: junior year at the University of Hawaii. 🌺

🚨 CALLING ALL APPAREL PARTNERS 🚨

BC Athletics is seeking proposals from qualified apparel and promotional product providers to serve as our official apparel partner beginning January 1, 2027.

The successful proponent will supply competition, training, and branded apparel across our provincial team and BC Summer Games programs, championship events, officials, staff, and retail. We are looking for a long term partner who can deliver high quality, performance driven product while supporting our brand standards, operational needs, and growth.

✅2026 Junior Development Track & Field Championships Wrap-Up 🙌🏽

Congratulations to all of the athletes who participated in the 2026 Junior Development Track & Field Championships! 🎉
This year's event brought together more than 400 athletes and their families, who travelled to Duncan for an incredible weekend of competition! There were many outstanding performances and lots of fun had!

Thank you to the Cowichan Valley Athletics Club for hosting such a fantastic championship event. We would also like to recognize and thank the many volunteers from across the province who generously gave their time and energy to make the weekend a success!

A special thank you to all of the officials who volunteered there time and helped the competition run smoothly! We appreciate your support!!
