Who we are:
Float N’ Flag Dive Centre is a full service 5 Star PADI Instructor Development Centre (IDC) serving Oakville, Burlington, Hamilton, Kitchener and the Niagara region. We offer many things from courses to gear and the opportunity to meet some new diving buddies. To us, our customers are more than just customers, we are a family: a diving family. All of us at Float N' Flag are passionate
divers, at all levels, and are committed to making your diving experience the best it can be. In other words, we want you to love diving as much as we love diving. To do that, we want you to be comfortable with all your current skills and we want you to continue learning new skills. This is why we offer courses from Discover Scuba to Instructor, and everything in between. We’ve been searching for, and testing, all kinds of new equipment, some of which will greatly enhance your diving experience, both locally and on trips. Introduce yourself and let us know what you need and we’ll do our best to help. What we do:
Whether you’re interested in our regular scuba lessons, the PADI online e-Learning scuba course, private lessons, a women’s only scuba class or just a place to meet other divers, this is the place to be. For teams, clubs, corporations, school or other groups, we can also help you with a unique program to focus participants on areas such as leadership, overcoming obstacles, teamwork and more. We are in the process of adding more courses and educational seminars for this coming year to help keep your training up to date and to facilitate new learning. Whether you want to find out more about dry suit diving or want to hear about re-breathers, Float N’ Flag will try to keep you updated on the latest trends. Our merchandise line-up is a blend of the solid favourites and a selection of the latest innovative products from the industry’s top manufacturers. We are also proud to be Ontario’s only dealer for Reactor Watches. Besides course offerings and quality gear, we also offer servicing, visual inspections and maintenance on a variety of equipment. Bring your gear in and we will let you know what we can do for you. Safety is a top priority for us here at Float N’ Flag, so we want to make sure your gear is properly maintained to keep you safe. With all that gear and training, you really need somewhere to use them, right? So why not join us on one of our annual trips? We take part in trips to tropical locations during the cooler months and stay up here during those warmer months. Each year, Float N’ Flag runs trips to Tobermory and Brockville to see all the amazing wrecks hidden in the deep. But if wrecks aren’t your thing, we also offer trips down south to places such as Bonaire, Curaçao and Wakatobi. Each trip is an opportunity to see incredible wildlife and landscapes and to connect with your fellow divers.

Post 2 of 2 from day 2 - 3 spectacular, yet unique diversites awaited the FNF crew today. Willie and Timea even joined the group for an afternoon snorkel! Everyone came back beaming, and for most people, say at least 10 things they had never seen before. It’s so cool sharing this experience with everyone!!

What an incredible dive! Our 3rd dive of the day here in was rich with the weird and wonderful! Everything from Flathead Crocodile fish to various flatworms, a Sea Fan Cowrie and a funky little Orangutan Crab at the end of the dive that we could have watched for an hour. But alas, our 74 minute dive was finished, and now it’s time to relax with a beverage and a spectacular meal!!

Spectacular first morning here in Wakatobi. The groups were all seeing different things, but here is a nice assortment from my camera of a few highlights.

Spectacular! Our arrival at Wakatobi was nothing short of this. Our group stepped off the plane at Tomia airport and was greeted by the smiling Wakatobi staff. We were then whisked off in cabs to the pier where we (more accurately “They”) loaded the boats and we began our journey to our new home for the next 11 days. With 3-4 dives daily on one of the best reef systems in the world, we’re getting excited about sharing some photos with everyone of some of the most unique critters you’ll ever find. And in colours you’ve never seen before. It’s a tall order, but the group here is up for the task!!

After breakfast was a trip to a local hot springs for a bit of rest and relaxation. Beautiful setting, and therapeutic.

This morning, while an early one, we went out on traditional Balinese boats to look for dolphins at sunrise. What a spectacle being out on the water watching this. Even if the dolphins didn’t come, it was worth getting up for. But they came! Somehow you never get tired of watching dolphins! What a way to start the day!!

Today will be a very special day. Tonight we’ll be in Komang’s village for a special ceremony and Palm w**e dance. But we just began our day with a private lesson and concert with world renowned Balinese flutist Gus Teja. It was a special treat and blessing to be welcomed into his home and meet his family. Incredible cultural experience!

Our group visited a rice farming community. We even got to try our hand at various methods of separating the rice from the grass. Excellent learning experience and great interactions with the local farmers.

Ok. The hotel we are at might just be high on the excellent scale. This was what we woke up to this morning.
