Community Spotlight: Game Ready Training

Our winter workouts happen right here in Brantford, at Game Ready Training's indoor turf facility — and if you haven't seen this space, it's worth knowing about.

A serious indoor turf setup and batting cages mean our girls get to keep developing all winter long, no matter what's happening outside. ❄️

Game Ready Training is a true hub for baseball development in this city — they're the official training facility partner of the Brantford Red Sox, and they help athletes at every level grow.

We're grateful to train in a space built by people who care about the game as much as we do. Local business, local partnership, local girls getting better every week.

It's a myth that girls can only play softball. There's space for them in the sport of baseball — we just have to make it known! Here are some great reasons to play girls' baseball:

⚾️ There's a pro league to dream about. Girls now have a real professional path in baseball to look up to and aspire toward.

⚾️ Closer friendships. Smaller rosters and girls-only teams mean tighter bonds — these girls become each other's people.

⚾️ Skills that carry over. Baseball fundamentals — hitting, fielding, base running — build athleticism that transfers to any sport a girl plays.

⚾️Meet the Coach: Scott Chapman ⚾️

Pro tip: he lights up every time someone yells "Hi Coach Scott!" so don't be shy. And yes — if it's not baseball-themed, it's not in his closet. The man has lived and breathed this game for over 20 years, and it shows.

On the field, Coach Scott is our third base, hitting, and fielding guy — and that Coach of the Year shelf is getting crowded. Multiple championship titles, multiple coaching awards, and he's been a driving force behind girls' baseball in Brantford for years now.

Our Winter Workouts are a great way for players to stay connected to the game during the off-season while continuing to build confidence, strength, and skill in a supportive, all-girls environment.

What Are Winter Workouts?

Winter Workouts are indoor training sessions focused on helping players develop and refine their baseball fundamentals in a fun and positive atmosphere. Players will work on:

⚾️Throwing & catching mechanics
⚾️Fielding technique & positioning
⚾️Batting skills (including work off tees and pitching machines)
⚾️Base running & agility
⚾️Game awareness and teamwork

Why girls-only baseball?

Because girls deserve space to play the game too and too many girls get funneled into softball by default.

It's a space built just for them: teammates who get it, skilled coaches focused on helping them grow, and a team that becomes their friends, their support system, their life. Girls supporting girls, on and off the field.
