⭐Thinking about your fitness goals for the fall? 💪

For new BU Students, a first-time gym orientation is mandatory to begin using your HLC gym membership. The guided group tour covers the basics of navigating your membership benefits as a BU Student and how to get the most out of the HLC facility.

Each orientation lasts up to 20 minutes. Don't forget that you will need to have your 2026-27 student card to access the facility, so order it if you haven't yet!

If you don't wish to use your BU membership within the first week of classes, a 1-on-1 orientation will be possible at a future date.

🟢The HLC will be closed on Wednesday, Sept 2 from 6AM-12PM for staff training purposes. We apologise for any inconvenience.

🏐Mini Cats Volleyball starts Oct 18!🏐

Mini Cats is perfect for beginner players, with a focus on the FUN of Volleyball! It features slightly modified rules and equipment to help players get started learning and enjoying the game right away.

Mini Cats is run by the BU Bobcats men's volleyball team.

✔ Assist visitors entering the Healthy Living Centre
✔ Assist in set up and take down of events held within the facility

✔ Issue memberships, Bobcat game tickets, merchandise and issue receipts as needed to customers
✔ Provide exceptional customer service to ensure an overall positive experience
✔ Other related duties as assigned

𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬/𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞:
✔ Preference given to Brandon University students
✔ Must have initiative and ability to work independently
✔ Flexibility to work in constantly changing environment
✔ Prioritize workloads and tasks
✔ Previous experience in customer service, retail, handling money
✔ Ability to follow written and verbal procedures with close supervision
✔ Must be able to work shift work and weekends during the year

To be successful in this role, previous experience working with cash, issuing change, and balancing a cash register are assets; as well as previous experience preparing or serving food an asset. Must hold Smart Choices certification when applying. Evidence of certification will be requested.

Brandon University is proud to host a Community Sports Weekend put on by the Brandon Local Immigration Partnership (BLIP) at the BU Healthy Living Centre.

✅Join BLIP for plenty of activities, refreshments, and viewing of the World Cup third-place playoff and the World Cup final matches. You’re encouraged to wear your favourite jersey and participate in the games.

🔆Activities and games will take place outdoors, with World Cup viewing shown on the BIG SCREEN inside the main gym. There will be a free BBQ on Saturday and free cotton candy and popcorn on Sunday.
