The pot is growing! Our current pot is $1,515 the lucky winner gets half!

Every ticket purchased helps us create enriching environments for the children in our care. Funds raised will support:

📚 Expanding our preschool library with cozy reading nooks, quality books, and child-friendly library furniture.
🧸 Adding high-quality educational toys and games that nurture children's and infants' developmental skills.
🌿 Replacing plastic toys and furniture with durable, natural wooden materials that inspire creativity and open-ended play.
🌞 Enhancing our outdoor play spaces to encourage exploration, movement, and discovery.
❤️ Continuing to provide welcoming, engaging learning environments where every child can flourish.

2026 Summer Camp Staff Highlight: Meet McKenna!

This summer, we’re celebrating the incredible staff who help make YMCA Summer Camp a fun, welcoming, and memorable experience for every camper.

McKenna has been part of the YMCA Brandon team since 2023, gaining experience in the Before and After School Program, Youth Programs, and Summer Camps. To date, she has been part of three YMCA Summer Day Camps. McKenna continues to bring enthusiasm and dedication to creating positive experiences for children and youth.

We asked McKenna what she enjoys most about working at the YMCA:

“As I prepare to become an Early Years Teacher next year, working at the Summer Camp has been incredibly valuable. It has given me the opportunity to build experience, particularly in engaging with children from diverse backgrounds and with varying abilities. While I hope to teach Grade 1 or 2 after I graduate, I truly appreciate the opportunity to work with both the 5–7 and 8–12 age groups.”

“I especially enjoy the diversity within the YMCA Summer Day Camp, as well as the thoughtfully designed, age-appropriate activities. There’s never a dull moment—each day brings something new to learn and experience.”

Summer Camp Staff Highlight: Meet Jessie!

This summer, we’re celebrating the incredible staff who help make YMCA Summer Camp a fun, welcoming, and memorable experience for every camper.

Jessie has been part of the YMCA Brandon team for two years. She previously volunteered with Summer Day Camp and now works in Youth Programs. Having grown up attending YMCA Summer Day Camps herself, Jessie brings a unique perspective and connection to the camp experience.

We asked Jessie what she enjoys most about working at the YMCA:

“I have been coming to these camps since I was 5, so I figured that I could work in and help run the camp since I was too old to be in them”.

“I love how there are so many different kids who come and how each one has a special personality; it’s been great to get to know them”.

For 13 years, the Dood Cristall Family YMCA has been a place for people of all ages to connect, grow, stay active, and build community.

Madison is in her second year with the YMCA Brandon team. Throughout her time with the YMCA, she has worked with the Before and After School program and Day Camps. Madison continues to gain valuable experience working with children while creating positive and memorable experiences for campers.

We asked Madison what she enjoys most about working at the YMCA:

“I am working towards becoming a teacher and working at the YMCA has provided me with lots of great experience working with kids and lots of great memories!”

“I enjoy working at the YMCA Day Camps because each day is unique and exciting! It’s a positive environment where both campers and counsellors have fun!”

Joshua is spending his first summer with the YMCA Brandon team as a Summer Day Camp Counsellor. He is excited to gain experience, support children as they learn and grow, and create memorable camp experiences.

We asked Joshua what he enjoys most about working at the YMCA:

“I am working at the YMCA this summer because it gives me the opportunity to work with and help the kids grow, learn, and to gain experience”.

“So far, I love everything about the YMCA Summer Day Camp. All the activities are interactive and fun!”

This summer, we’re celebrating the incredible staff who help make YMCA Summer Camp a fun, welcoming, and memorable experience for every camper.

Elissa has been part of the YMCA Brandon team for six years. Throughout her time with the YMCA, she has worked in the Before and After School department, and this is her third summer working with Day Camps. Elissa continues to bring experience, enthusiasm, and a passion for supporting children and youth to the YMCA team.

We asked Elissa what she enjoys most about working at the YMCA:

“Working for the YMCA provides me with the opportunity to gain experience as well as build skills and knowledge that I will take with me as I continue to work towards my Master of Counselling.”

“I love working the summer day camps as every day is always a blast and always unique. I look forward to engaging with the campers, helping them grow and learn, as well as being able to help make their summer memorable. It is so nice to see returning campers and meet new ones”!
