The South Simcoe Minor Hockey Association is proud to announce that our 2025/2026 U11AA South Simcoe Storm Team (2015) has been awarded the Bradford West-Gwillimbury Civic Award for the Sports Team of the Year!!

Their outstanding 2025/2026 season was highlighted by capturing gold at the Regional Silver Stick Tournament, winning gold at the Ottawa Fall Classic, and ultimately winning the YSMHL U11AA League Championship.

Their off-ice contributions to the community were equally impressive. The team organized a successful food drive in support of the Bradford and Innisfil Food Banks (with the help of the Markham Waxers), helped make the holidays brighter for local families through a toy drive in partnership with the TNT Tornados, and spearheaded a Hockey Fights Cancer campaign that raised more than $3,000 for a meaningful cause.

They also demonstrated exceptional leadership by giving back to the next generation of players through a mentorship program with the U9MD Bradford Bulldogs, fostering a love of the game both on and off the ice.

Truly a remarkable year that is worthy of this special recognition.
