La Fédération québécoise pour le saumon atlantique (FQSA) appuie la campagne internationale Wild Salmon & the Global Biodiversity Framework (Saumon sauvage et le Cadre mondial pour la biodiversité).

Cette initiative vise à mieux arrimer le développement de l’aquaculture avec les objectifs mondiaux de biodiversité et à accélérer la transition vers des pratiques plus durables. Son objectif principal est d’appeler les gouvernements du monde entier à mettre fin à l’aquaculture à filet ouvert et à adopter des systèmes en confinement fermé, afin de protéger le saumon sauvage, restaurer les écosystèmes aquatiques et respecter le Cadre mondial de la biodiversité de Kunming-Montréal, un accord international adopté en 2022 visant à enrayer et inverser la perte de biodiversité d’ici 2030.

Au Québec, nous partageons pleinement cette vision et réaffirmons l’importance de la collaboration scientifique, de la conservation des habitats et de la mobilisation des communautés pour assurer l’avenir du saumon atlantique.
