📢 Community Notice | Drainage Assessment

Community members may notice Drone Services Canada working throughout Whitefish River First Nation from Sunday, September 20 to Tuesday, September 22.

The team will be using drones to survey ditches and culverts as part of the Whitefish Drainage Assessment. This work will help gather information about drainage conditions throughout the community and support future planning.

The Spirit of Manitoulin will be an exhibition celebrating the Indigenous artists of Manitoulin Island.

The exhibition brings together works by James Mishibinijima, John Laford, Peter Migwans, Stewart Migwans, Eleanor Kanasawe, Mel Madahbee, Ivan Shawana, Don Ense, Mel Ense, Stanley Panamick, Leonard Beam and Carl Beam, among others. It remains on view through December 31, 2026.

🗳Whitefish River First Nation 2027 General Election Announcement

Whitefish River First Nation Administration is advising citizens that a Band Council Resolution has been passed to set the date for the 2027 WRFN General Election. Election Day will take place on Saturday, February 20, 2027.

WRFN has also issued a Request for Proposals for an Electoral Officer to oversee and administer the election process in accordance with the nation's Election Code. Interested and qualified individuals or firms are invited to submit a bid no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, September 25, 2026.
