What Can Adult Dance Students Expect When They Arrive?

Coming to the studio for the first time? Here’s everything you need to know so you can walk through the doors feeling comfortable and confident.

Step 1: Park & Enter the Building
You can park in any of our free parking spaces located at the front and side of the building.
Enter through the first set of doors.

Step 2: Remove Your Outdoor Shoes
Once you enter, please remove your exterior shoes.
Our studio has specialty dance flooring that is both expensive and carefully maintained. We ask that everyone help us protect it by keeping outdoor shoes off the dance floors.

Step 3: Enter the Second Set of Doors
After removing your shoes, you’ll need to enter your door code to access the next set of doors.
Don't have your code? No problem! Simply press the doorbell and wait for Amy to let you in.

Step 4: Find Your Way Around
Once inside, you’ll find everything you need nearby.
• Change Room: Located off the Student Lounge, to the left after you pass the office.
• Washrooms: Located to the right after the office.
• Dance Studios: Also located to the right after the office.
• Adult Class Information: Look for the sign on our bulletin boards across from the washrooms. It will tell you which studio your adult class is in.
Our studios are labelled alphabetically, beginning with Studio A, our largest studio.

Step 5: If You Arrive Early
If you arrive before your class begins, you're welcome to wait in the hallway outside the studio.
Please wait until your instructor invites you into the studio before entering.

Step 6: Enter the Studio & Get Settled
Once your instructor invites you in, place your belongings at the front of the studio.
Then find your spot:
Ballet: Find a place at the barre.
Contemporary, Tap, Jazz or Hip Hop: Find a comfortable place in the centre of the studio.
Your instructor will guide you from there!

Most Importantly…
Don't worry if you're new! We know that walking into a new studio for the first time can feel a little intimidating. Our staff and instructors are happy to help, and we'll make sure you know where to go.
Just arrive a few minutes early, follow these steps, and we'll take it from there.

Welcome to Quinte Ballet School of Canada — we're so happy you're here!

🛘 💛 Next week, we are thrilled to welcome award-winning Toronto dance company Rock Bottom Movement to Quinte Ballet School of Canada for a two-week residency as they prepare their newest work, Landslide, premiering this October at Fall for Dance North Festival.

Founded by choreographer Alyssa Martin, Rock Bottom Movement is the Toronto-based home of Martin’s irreverent absurdist dance works. The company is dedicated to blurring the boundaries of theatre and dance in pursuit of refreshingly approachable art.

With Landslide, the company tackles the question of whether or not to embark on the journey of parenthood in all its doubt, fantasy, pressure and joy.

Rock Bottom’s connection to QBSC goes back years. Alyssa Martin and members of the company joined us during our Summer Intensives in 2015 and 2016, leading workshops and sharing excerpts of their work with our students.

We’re excited to welcome them back in this new chapter and look forward to having these incredible artists creating in our studios over the next two weeks and can’t wait to follow Landslide on its journey to the stage this October.
