The Nova Scotia Marathon takes place in the Municipality of Barrington, located on the beautiful south western shore of Nova Scotia.

The Nova Scotia Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and 6K race takes place in the Municipality of Barrington, located on the beautiful south western shore of Nova Scotia. Runners will enjoy this coastal run which is mainly flat with some rolling hills. The Full Marathon will take you to Nova Scotia’s most southerly point, The Hawk, and includes some of the most beautiful ocean views around. THIS IS NOT A CLOSED COURSE

⚠️ IMPORTANT RACE DAY UPDATE

After closely monitoring the latest weather forecasts, Race Officials have adjusted tomorrow's race schedule to allow additional time for the overnight weather system to move through the area.

πŸƒ Revised Start Times

πŸ•— 8:00 AM – Marathon
πŸ•£ 8:15 AM – Half Marathon
πŸ•£ 8:30 AM – 10K
πŸ•£ 8:30 AM – 6K

πŸš— All vehicle traffic must be on Sherose Island by 8:00 AM to ensure the roadway remains clear while all races are starting.

Current forecasts continue to call for heavy rain overnight, with the possibility of strong winds, lingering rain, and even thunderstorms into the morning.

β›ˆοΈ If thunderstorms are occurring when you arrive, please remain inside the Recreation Complex and await further instructions from Race Officials. Participant safety will always be our top priority, and races will not begin while lightning is present.

Please be aware that, depending on wind conditions, some event infrastructure such as start/finish gantries, tents, and other temporary structures may need to be removed or modified for safety reasons. While the event may look a little different than originally planned, our team is committed to providing the best race experience possible under the conditions.

Keep an eye on your email and our social media channels for any overnight updates.
Dress appropriately for the weather.
Use extra caution around the venue and on the course, as puddling and slippery conditions are expected.

For the safety of the 700+ participants of the Nova Scotia Marathon, the Cape Sable Island Causeway will be reduced to one lane between the hours of 7AM and 1PM on Sunday, July 19.

Please drive with caution and prepare for delays.

This weekend, we’re excited to welcome over 700 runners to the Municipality of Barrington for the Nova Scotia Marathon, our scenic race that brings our coastline to life with energy, spirit, and community pride.

Sunday, July 19
Peak time for runner activity: 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM

With hundreds of participants expected on our roads, we kindly ask all residents and visitors to drive with caution and plan ahead:

TRAFFIC NOTICE – Cape Sable Island Causeway (HWY 330):
HWY 330 will be reduced to one lane between the hours of 7AM and 1PM.
Expect delays and congestion.
Traffic control personnel will be on site to guide traffic safely

Please help us keep everyone safe by:
Slowing down around runners
Keeping a safe distance
Following all traffic control directions
Keeping your pets on leashes along the route.

Let’s give our runners a warm welcome and offer them our down-home hospitality, as we SEA them run this weekend!
