On Thursday morning, two Red Headed Woodpeckers came to visit us. One ate from the feeder while the other watched from a nearby tree. Thank you Nancy for reminding me!
Core Spiritual Meanings:
Passion and Courage: The bright red head acts as a beacon of life force, urging you to pursue your goals with bold intent and courage.
Persistence and Focus: Their steady drumming represents the heartbeat of the Earth, reminding you to stay focused and break through stubborn obstacles.
Resourcefulness: These birds find hidden sustenance in dead wood, teaching you to uncover opportunities right in front of you.
Awakening and Action: Seeing one is a sign to stop waiting passively and start taking disciplined, confident action in your life.
Seeing two red-headed woodpeckers join you during yoga is a powerful and rare sign of shared energy, alignment, and balanced action. Because these birds are highly territorial and usually solitary, seeing a pair together amplifies their spiritual message.Spiritual Significance for Your Yoga PracticeSacral and Root Chakra Activation: The fiery red heads of these birds correspond deeply with your physical energy centers. Their appearance suggests your practice is successfully awakening your passion, creativity, and inner fire.Harmony and Partnership: Seeing exactly two birds brings a message of balance. It highlights the union of opposites—much like the word yoga itself means "to yoke" or unite body and mind, or masculine and feminine energies.Grounding the Mind: The steady, rhythmic energy of the woodpecker mirrors the focus required in yoga. They are inviting you to sync your breath with the heartbeat of nature and stay fully grounded in the present moment.Abundance at the "Feeder": Coming to your feeder shows they trust your space. Spiritually, this implies that you are currently nourishing your soul and attracting support, community, or abundance into your life. How to Carry This Energy ForwardMaintain consistency: Keep up with your movement practice; your energy is actively shifting and aligning.Embrace dualities: Look for areas in your life where you need to balance hard work with deep rest.

When I was first diagnosed with breast cancer, I reached out to the yoga community in search of someone who could teach my classes while I went through treatment.
Roz came into my life at exactly the right time. She had already walked the path I was about to begin, and she had just completed her yoga teacher training. Without hesitation, she stepped in to take over my classes, allowing me to focus on healing. More importantly, she was there for me every step of the way, offering support, understanding, and friendship when I needed it most.
Over the past four years, Roz became so much more than a fellow yoga instructor. She became a dear friend and confidant. Sadly, cancer found its way back into her life, and we have lost a truly beautiful soul far too soon.
Many of you had the pleasure of knowing Roz through our yoga community. Her kindness, gentle spirit, and compassion touched so many lives.
Her family has invited everyone to celebrate her life this Friday, and I would like to extend that invitation to all of you.
Celebration of Life

If you knew Roz, I know her family would be grateful to have you there as we gather to remember, celebrate, and honour the incredible person she was.
Rest peacefully, my friend. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
