Tuesday Tech Tip

Label Your Gear

Walk around any dive boat and you’ll notice something—many divers use the same brands and even the same equipment. That can make packing up at the end of the day a little confusing.

Take a few minutes to clearly label your cylinders, fins, mask, lights, reels, and other gear with your name or initials. It makes identifying your equipment quick and easy, helps prevent accidental mix-ups, and ensures you leave with everything you arrived with.

A few minutes of preparation before the dive can save a lot of frustration afterward.

Do you label all of your gear, or have you ever accidentally gone home with someone else’s equipment?

There’s something special about dropping into the past and getting a glimpse of the machinery that once powered these incredible vessels. Every valve, gauge, and piece of equipment tells a story waiting to be discovered.

Tuesday Tech Tip: Skill Repetition Builds Better Divers

Every dive is an opportunity to improve.

Before ending your dive, take just a few minutes to practice one skill. It could be:

✅ Mask clearing
✅ Regulator recovery
✅ Buoyancy control
✅ Trim adjustments
✅ Valve drills
✅ SMB deployment
✅ Propulsion techniques

Regularly revisiting these skills helps build muscle memory, maintain diving currency, and ensures that when you need a skill in a real-world situation, it comes naturally.

Remember: Skills that aren’t practiced are skills that fade.

A few minutes at the end of every dive can make a significant difference in your confidence, safety, and overall diving performance.

Train with purpose. Dive with confidence.
