At South Simcoe United FC, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to learn and grow — including our referees.

Starting this week, referees under the age of 18 will be wearing a green whistle during games. This is a reminder that these officials are young athletes themselves, developing their skills and gaining experience just like our players.

We ask our families and spectators to:
💚 Encourage, don’t criticize
💚 Respect the decisions made on the field
💚 Let referees learn and grow through experience
💚 Show the same patience and support you would want for your own child

Our young referees are an important part of our club. Many are players who have stepped up to give back to the game we all love.

Let’s work together to create a positive sideline culture where players, coaches, referees, and families feel supported.

Due to the extreme heat and in the interest of player safety, all South Simcoe United recreational and competitive practices scheduled for today have been cancelled.

The safety and well-being of our players, coaches, and families will always come first. We appreciate your understanding as we work to make the best decisions during periods of extreme weather.

This July, South Simcoe United is excited to welcome Nasser Larguet for a unique training camp experience designed for both players and coaches who are ready to learn, grow, and challenge themselves.

For players, this is an opportunity to develop technical skills, improve decision-making, build confidence, and gain valuable insight from one of the most respected leaders in soccer development.

For coaches, it’s a chance to expand your coaching knowledge, explore player development methodologies, understand high-performance pathways, and continue building the tools needed to support the next generation of athletes.

Whether you’re stepping onto the field as a player or standing on the sidelines as a coach, growth starts when you’re willing to learn from the best.

Due to the extreme heat and in the best interest of player safety, all South Simcoe United Recreational and Competitive soccer activities are cancelled today, Tuesday, June 30.

The health and well-being of our players, coaches, referees, volunteers, and families will always come first. We know many of our athletes were looking forward to being on the field today, but playing safely is our top priority.

Thank you for your understanding, patience, and support. Stay cool, stay hydrated, and we look forward to seeing everyone back on the pitch soon.

Today, we celebrate all the amazing dads, grandfathers, stepdads, father figures, and supporters who make a difference both on and off the field.
