Ryan didn’t get one stripe.

He got two.

Ryan trained Jiu Jitsu as a teenager and earned his yellow belt. Then life happened.

Now he’s back on the mats as an adult.

And training as an adult is different.

There’s work. Kids. Family. Your spouse. Other hobbies. Appointments. Responsibilities. And about 47 other things competing for the same few hours in your week.

You don’t need to train every day.

You need to find the 2–3 times a week that work for your life, and keep showing up.

That’s what Ryan has been doing.

Not perfectly.

Consistently.

And consistency adds up.

There were two very different things happening at Karma Monday night (and all other nights).

On one side of the wall, Jiu Jitsu.

Superheroes. Kids Fundamentals. Advanced Skills. Teens. Adults.

Classes running exactly as they normally do.

On the other side?

Kids playing. Parents talking. People catching up. Coffee being poured. Treats being eaten. And The Dapper Baker keeping everyone very well caffeinated.

We designed Karma this way intentionally.

The people taking class deserve a space dedicated to Jiu Jitsu.

But the parents who drive them here, the siblings who wait for them, and the people who spend several nights a week inside this building deserve a space too.

We call it The Living Room.

Classes are finished.

Everyone has gone home.

And apparently owning a Jiu Jitsu academy means mopping mats in fish flops while flirting with your husband. 😂🐟

Welcome to Karma after hours.

Sometimes it’s teaching Jiu Jitsu.

Sometimes it’s cleaning mats, turning off lights, locking doors and getting ready to do it all again tomorrow.

Wouldn’t trade it.

Tonight the mats were for something different.

No drilling.
No rolling.
No submissions.

Just a bunch of people sprawled out on the mats watching GOAT together.

Sometimes we train together.

Sometimes we hang out together.

And sometimes we turn the academy into a movie theatre.
