One month of Chester. 🤎🐴
It’s been one month since Chester arrived at Smiling Faces, and we’re so proud of the progress he’s already making. Every day he’s learning that life doesn’t have to be rushed, and that trust is built one quiet moment at a time. ✨
As he’s settled in, he’s met our vet and farrier, enjoyed some bodywork, and has started working in our intermediate lesson program with some of our more experienced riders. He’s taking everything at his own pace while learning to relax in the barn and indoor arena and build trust with his handlers.
Finding your place in a new herd is never without its challenges, but Chester is slowly making new friends and settling into life here at Smiling Faces. 💛
When he’s out in the field, his personality really shines. He’s always happy to wander over for a scratch, a cuddle, or the chance of a treat, and he’ll happily follow you around hoping for a little extra attention. Of course, everything is on Chester’s terms—if he thinks you’re getting a little too bossy, he’ll let you know he’s still figuring things out. 😅
We feel so lucky to be part of Chester’s journey and can’t wait to watch him continue to grow. He’s already become such a loved member of the Smiling Faces family. 🤎

🎉🐾 Happy 1st Birthday to our wild little Sierra! 💛
One whole year of endless zoomies, surprise flying hugs, and enough energy to keep the entire farm on its toes!
If you’re standing nearby, consider yourself warned… Sierra has absolutely no problem launching herself into your arms without asking first. Personal space? Never heard of it. 😂
She’s convinced Mom should never be more than three steps away, loves cuddles more than just about anything, and somehow transforms into the world’s biggest scaredy-dog the second she thinks she’s in trouble. Brave? Only until someone says, “Sierra…” 🤭
She’s still figuring out this whole “growing up” thing (especially the part about boundaries), but we wouldn’t change a single thing about our goofy, loving girl.
Happy 1st Birthday, Sierra! Thank you for filling our days with laughter, muddy paw prints, and more love than we ever thought one little dog could give. We love you to pieces! 🎂🐶💛

🌼✨ Meet the Horse Monday: Bella ✨🌼
Hi, I’m Bella! 🐴💛
I’m one of the oldest members of the Smiling Faces Equestrian herd at 25 years old, and I still love having a job. I’m not quite ready to retire, and I enjoy helping riders build confidence every week. 💕
I came to Smiling Faces from Heartland, and when I first arrived, I wasn’t in the best condition. My muscles and back needed a lot of strengthening, and I was dealing with pain in my legs. With plenty of time, care, and patience, I’ve become stronger, healthier, and happier than ever. To help keep me feeling my best, I receive regular injections that keep me comfortable and ready to do what I love. 💪🌿
Now… about catching me. 😌 Some people say I’m “hard to catch.” I prefer to think of myself as selectively available.
Helpful tip: 🍎 Apples.
Unhelpful tip: Assuming I’ll come over just because you called my name.
I like to keep everyone on their toes, but once you earn my trust, I’m a wonderful partner and always happy to get to work. ❤️🐎
