Good Sunday Morning 🙂,
This is me in all my early morning glory 🤩.
I had a very early morning meditation and rolled out the yoga mat this morning.
I was reluctant to do so , because in the moment it always seems so much easier to scroll through social media, or do something that doesn’t really serve a purpose for our mind and body.
If you have practiced yoga or fitness with me, you will have heard me say many times , that showing up is the hardest part.
It really is. But once we can get ourselves there and we just start to unfold into the practices that serve us on a soul level. The aftermath can be so rewarding.
Needless to say I’m glad I showed up for myself this morning and had time to reset for the week ahead.

Joining in community can sometimes make it a bit easier to show up as well.
And I will be honest all of the people I teach and share space with are some of the best people ever. Kind, welcoming and fun loving.
If you are looking for a place to land this summer that feels safe and welcoming , please come join in at any of the classes I’ll be offering over July and August.
All classes will be held at The Hub in Abbotsford.
Just click the link to sign up.
Or reach out if you have any questions.
I wish you all a beautiful Sunday 💕✌️.

I know you know this , but just another reminder why movement is so good for us!
And why I a love what I do for a living.

Have you ever noticed that your best ideas often come while you’re out for a walk or moving around the house? That’s no coincidence. Movement acts like a natural wake-up call for your brain. When you get up and move, your heart pumps more oxygen-rich blood to your brain, delivering the fuel it needs to think clearly and stay focused. At the same time, your brain releases chemicals that support learning, memory, and a positive mood. Even just a few minutes of walking, dancing, stretching, or gentle exercise can help clear away mental fog, improve concentration, and leave you feeling refreshed. For older adults, regular movement is especially valuable because it helps keep the brain active and engaged, supporting memory and cognitive function as we age. That’s why taking a short movement break can often be more effective than simply sitting and trying harder to concentrate. When your body moves, your brain benefits too, proving that one of the simplest ways to sharpen your mind is to get up and move.

Good morning Team 🙂

Just taking a moment to pause breathe and listen to the birds before I get on with a busy day ahead.
This month has been incredibly busy, with graduation festivities for my son, my dad finally coming home from 2 months in hospital and work.
All wonderfully great things, but busy nonetheless. And emotional too.
I know that June is a busy time for so many of us.
I always feel like June is the summer version of December 😂😂.
The invitation I continue to offer myself during these busy days is one of , kindness to the self.
Pausing in the short moments to breathe, or just listen to what is moving around me, offering little mantras such as I am peaceful and at ease.
As well moving my body when things feel like wayyyy too much.
Even if it’s just a 10 second shake out or wiggle of my body. It helps !
When we are pushed to the edges of our window , it can feel like old habits kick in or we are retreating backwards in all the hard work we have done thus far to maintain a balanced mind body connection.
Please know it’s ok if today , yesterday or this month has reared the not so beautiful in you.
It happens when we are running on empty.
Rather than beat yourself up or judge yourself.
Listen to this part of you , because really all it’s doing is trying to get your attention to slow down and take good care of you.
I know hard to do when there are many demands that need tending to.
So if anything , forgive yourself if you’ve reacted in a way that doesn’t feel like your highest self.
There are always new moments , new days new months to reset.
I love you all , and look forward to connecting either on the yoga mat with you or sharing fitness with you or perhaps just spending time sharing conversation together over these summer months.
Keep your eyes open for summer offerings ,
I’ve got you ,
Hugs Dee ✌️✌️✌️💕💕💕

What you resist only persists - Carl Jung.

This is so true. I resisted for so many years as a young adult and adolescent. And what resistance taught me , was a ton of suffering.
I felt severely anxious all the time, my mind was in constant overthinking , what if thinking and scary thought mode on a daily basis.
I felt depressed and hopeless.
My nervous system was in fight or flight 2-4-7.
I was surviving, not living.
And to be honest , I’ve come to realize , that’s ok.
If any of this resonates with you , most likely you were or are doing the best you can with what you knew at the time.
Spending time criticizing the resistance will just continue to bring us back to where we started.
But when we can just be with what is , we start to feel softer on the inside. Our parts start to feel seen and heard.
This is what the mindfulness practice has taught me for the past 20 years.
We are safe when we turn inward and welcome what is. It won’t hurt us even more. It will celebrate that you can welcome what is.
If this is new to you , or something you practice daily.
Follow these steps below and see what happens.
It’s such a great little map to guide you through some difficult feelings.

Know that you are not alone in this.
Wishing you all a peaceful Thursday ❤️✌️.

In the mindfulness practice , the teachings are rather simple. But often it’s the state of our minds that can cause these practices to feel challenging.
Like anything when we want to improve or strengthen our skills , practice on a regular basis is best.
We start to notice the stamina of the mind become more aware when we notice thoughts , storytelling , criticism and judgment .
One of the teachings that are used when practicing mindfulness is called Beginners Mind.
Beginners Mind is when we meet every experience as if you have never done it before.
So drinking out of a glass, going for a walk , driving your car to work.
Although these are just a few simple tasks we do everyday. But each moment each day is different.
There is always the opportunity to start over.
Begin again. Be in awareness of what is happening in the moment.
Paying attention to the small details of doing these things.
The simple part is to be here be now. The challenge is to quiet the mind while doing this.

So next time you notice yourself not present , or reactive , take a breath and bring yourself into beginners mind.
Reminding yourself there will always be opportunities to start over , redo this moment or that moment. To be more present and aware.
You’ve got this.
I wish you all a mindful Wednesday ✌️✌️

The word namaste means.
The teacher in me see the teacher in you.
My soul honours your soul
We are one.

Who can you learn from today? We are all teachers, and learners on this earth.
I invite you to take time to listen today, be the student.
It’s amazing the little nuggets of information we can learn when we just listen.
I also invite you to honour another today.
Thank the person for holding the door open for you, share a smile with a stranger , help someone with a task, offer someone a compliment, thank the barista for making your coffee. And be intentional and in the moment.
It’s easy to throw out a thank you, like it’s on autopilot.
But the invitation is to be present make eye contact and be genuine.
When we do this it shifts our energetic state in to a more positive place as well the others.
This is where we lean into wards the connection of being one with each other.

Have a wonderful Tuesday and I thank you all so much for being here. Not just on this FB page but for being here on earth.
You are a gift and a teacher.
Peace out ✌️

It’s Monday , exhale ….
Short and sweet.
And gentle reminder.
Take time to breathe today, listen to the birds, feel your feet on the ground.
Offer a mantra as you move through your day.
I am grounded I am clam.
No matter how you are feeling and no matter what you are doing, take some time to just be.
Now go and have a super duper day and week ahead.
