Calling the 2026 BC Summer Games a rewarding experience would be an understatement.
I was fortunate enough to be asked to take on the Master Coach role this year. And like at any BC Games, it was a wild ride.
I’d like to thank my Zone 3 team, the Birdie Jays, for showing up and giving it everything they had this week. Coach Avery Biggar was instrumental in keeping our players cool and collected. And Lois Park showed an unwavering amount of grit to collect her biggest win yet 🥇 it was worth the glitter.
This was just a glimpse of the growth we saw in these young athletes over the week. This was also the first time my parents came to watch me coach, rather than play. So maybe I grew too 🤷♂️
Our team of coaches pulled off a day of Golf Canada Talent ID Testing, Education Seminar with the help from Mackenzie Barrie, CMPC, managed to get everyone off the course safe during the lightning storm, and yet we somehow managed to smile while all sleep deprived. Thank you guys.
Excellent work by BC Golf and Tyler McKay to pull off this event in accordance with BC Summer Games. The thousands of BC Games Volunteers, thank you. Two Eagles Golf Course and ShannonLakeGolf, two top notch facilities 🙌
I hope everybody made some great memories that will last a lifetime. I know I have!
