🌊 PROTECTING OUR REEF — ONE MOORING AT A TIME 🪸

In collaboration with the Belize Tourism Board and Hol Chan Marine Reserve, the San Pedro Tour Guide Association, San Pedro Tour Operators Association, and Ambergris Caye Sport Fishing Association continue working together to protect and preserve our precious Belize Barrier Reef.

As part of our ongoing Mooring Buoy Project, we have added moorings at important snorkeling sites:

⚓ Tres Cocos — 5 buoys
⚓ Tuffy Reef — 10 buoys
⚓ Coral Gardens — 6 buoys

Total: 21 mooring buoys

These moorings provide a safer and more environmentally responsible alternative to dropping anchors, helping to prevent unnecessary damage to our corals and sensitive reef ecosystem.

As tour guides, tour operators, fishers, and users of our reef system, we recognize that we have a responsibility to protect the very resource that supports our livelihoods, our tourism industry, and our way of life.

🌿 Eco-tourism means using without abusing.

That is our motto and our commitment: to enjoy and benefit from our reef while ensuring that it remains healthy, sustainable, and beautiful for our children and future generations to enjoy.

Together, we use it. Together, we protect it. Together, we preserve it. 🇧🇿🌊🪸

Kids in Action continues shaping Ambergris Caye's next generation of marine stewards - The San Pedro Sun The 2026 Kids in Action Youth Summer Camp concluded with a field trip to the Hol Chan Marine Reserve followed by a closing ceremony.
